UN climate chief: Communism is best to fight global warming
The Daily Caller ^ | January 15, 2014 | Michael Bastasch

United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres said that democracy is a poor political system for fighting global warming. Communist China, she says, is the best model.

China may be the world’s top emitter of carbon dioxide and struggling with major pollution problems of their own, but the country is “doing it right” when it comes to fighting global warming says Figueres.

“They actually want to breathe air that they don’t have to look at,” she said. “They’re not doing this because they want to save the planet. They’re doing it because it’s in their national interest.”

Figueres added that the deep partisan divide in the U.S. Congress is “very detrimental” to passing any sort of legislation to fight global warming. The Chinese Communist Party, on the other hand, can push key policies and reforms all on its own. The country’s national legislature largely enforces the decisions made by the party’s Central Committee and other executive offices.

Communism was responsible for the deaths of about 94 million people in China, the Soviet Union, North Korea, Afghanistan and Eastern Europe in the 20th Century. China alone was responsible for 65 million of those deaths under communist rule....

In the same way that communism is the best to fight air pollution, as seen by the excellent air quality in Beijing?

Has this beeotch ever been to Beijing? It is far, far, far, far more polluted than any democratically run country.

UN climate chief: Communism is best to fight global warming because no free man would buy into the hoax and force is necessary to impose the agenda.

Leftists inevitably envy the authoritarian structures of the statists and their regimes.

That woman is too stupid to be ashamed of her position, and too stupid to understand why she's dead wrong in her assertions.

Things like the EPA--in communist nations--are considered impediments. They ape our governmental structures whenever convenient, so as to grant themselves the semblance of governmental legitimacy (i.e., we're the government, we're looking out for the people). But it's a sham.

That pretty much applied to the USSR and others; with China, YES, it is so very bad in Peking that the Party really does want to reduce pollution, that is true.

They're reaping their own whirlwind: They were in such a hot hurry to industrialize, they threw all environmental sense to the wind. Only now do they realize their mistake. The Heavy Hand of one party rule can make quick decisions, yes, but often these decisions have unintended consequences. (E.g., rapid industrialization leading to rapid environmental degradation.)

Another example of the joyous benefits of one party rule would be the one child police. Great idea, it will reduce the population. Ooops...uh...no girls, because every family chooses boys. What a collosal BLUNDER the party made, eh?

Top down governance always results in amplification of mistakes because of bad policy's unintended consequences.

well that certainly seems perfectly logical.

I wonder if she’d still feel that way if a communist was making her dig her own grave before putting a bullet in the back of her skull?

Because that’s what they do and why doesn’t she know this?

Communists don’t want excellence, they want universal mediocrity.

Because of fracking, capitalist America lowered its emissions to Kyoto Protocol levels without even trying.

Adding a new coal fired electrical plant every week for the next 10 years is her idea of fighting global warming?

A year ago I read a book titled something like “A Visit to Planet China”. Don’t remember exact title. It was written about 6 years ago. The author reported that the live expectancy of traffic cops is about 46 years of age.

It is also a good way to fight cancer. More people die young = less cancer.

The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible — global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes — with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet.”

“I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I don’t think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, ‘tomorrow could be too late, let’s do now what we need to do’.”

I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world — a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet.”

—Hugo Chavez, at the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Caracas on August 8-15, 2005
