Posted on 01/16/2014 2:03:22 PM PST by MarkBsnr
Sir Hew Strachan, an expert on the history of war, says that the presidents strategic failures in Afghanistan and Syria have crippled Americas position in the world. President Obama is chronically incapable of military strategy and falls far short of his predecessor George W. Bush, according to one of Britains most senior military advisors.
Sir Hew Strachan, an advisor to the Chief of the Defense Staff, told The Daily Beast that the United States and Britain were guilty of total strategic failure in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Obamas attempts to intervene on behalf of the Syrian rebels has left them in a far worse position than they were before.
The extraordinary critique by a leading advisor to the United States closest military ally comes days after Obama was undermined by the former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who questioned the Presidents foreign policy decisions and claimed he was deeply suspicious of the military.
Strachan, a current member of the Chief of the Defense Staffs Strategic Advisory Panel, cited the crazy handling of the Syrian crisis as the most egregious example of a fundamental collapse in military planning that began in the aftermath of 9/11. If anything its gone backwards instead of forwards, Obama seems to be almost chronically incapable of doing this. Bush may have had totally fanciful political objectives in terms of trying to fight a global War on Terror, which was inherently astrategic, but at least he had a clear sense of what he wanted to do in the world. Obama has no sense of what he wants to do in the world, he said.
They never explain what he's clueless about.
He knows a whole BUNCH of commie shit and how to impliment it.
“according to the UK”
Well, that settles it, then.
What did Obama build?
Did he do Hard Work?
He didnt build Obamacare!
Somebody else built that!
BTW, isnt a symptom of a chronic victim that nothing is EVER his fault?
Useless, yes. Clueless? Not hardly.
Disagree. obohomo hates America and is doing everything his muslim marxist handlers want him to do, namely, to weaken America militarily, economically, and morally, in the hopes that global islamofascism will fill the void after our collapse.
OBAMA IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR
We already knew he was clueless - din’t need a Brit to point out the obvious.
The worm in the apple.
Give Bammy a clue by hitting him on the head with a bust of Churchill.
It is indicative of how little respect the British government has for Obama that this was a public statement with attribution. The UK government is apparently not worried about blowback from the Fraud-in-Chief.
Don’t dump on Strachan; I’ve read his history of World War I; he’s a very good historian.
The equivalent of a flaming bag of dog poop left on the front porch. What a kidder.
LOL! It’s posts like this that I wish FR had a LIKE button!
Spot on my FRiend!
Obama is clueless about America & Americans.
Obama cares about certain things. One is expanding government. Two, taking white America down a couple notches. Three promoting homosexuality. Four expanding Islam. Anything outside of these 4 things he has touched is an utter disaster.
it is unsubstantiated at best to assume that O wants American victories or successes anywhere
(now now, isn’t that expressed TACTFULLY....!?)
the one consistent theme to nearly all his actions, or inactions, is to pull America, American defenses, American values, American morals, American allies, the American economy, American jobs, American business, or traditional American religions (Protestant, Catholic, Jewish) DOWN.
a) Weakens AmericaI have yet to have anyone raise a single substantive counter example in several years of posting this.
b) Distances America's allies
c) Strengthens America's enemies
d) Serves Islam
e) Harms Israel
Or some combination of the above.
(Although AJFavish did point out that I missed "increases dependency on the government")
Strachan seems spot-on; I just thought the title of the posted article was a bit overreaching.
