California's Latino population is going to overtake the white population in only two months, according to this year's state budget report. The state is also getting older, with the population of over 65s predicted to hit a boom over the coming months. The state has been getting more diverse for a while, but now the Latino population will be 'the single largest race or ethnic group', and it's thought to be because most Latino groups are in their prime childbearing years.

We left SoCal in 2010 and moved to an eastern TN town near Knoxville. It’s so great to walk around a grocery store and hear nothing but English being spoken.

California was majority Mexican when it first became a state, why would this be any different if it returned this way? Not saying things haven’t changed, I just think this is more hyperbole than what will really happen.

There has always been a large Hispanic population in the SW. Most are 3rd, 4th, 5th generation families who can’t even speak Spanish. In recent decades there has been a large influx of Latinos into the SW making it seem worse, but it fluctuates. When the recession (now a depression IMO) first hit, a large chunk of the illegals left because there was no work. Now many are coming back making it look like Hispanics will overtake whites again. The illegals will go where the work is so if the Cali economy drops again, they will move to another state.

Only a small minority of Mexicans (mostly illegal) want California to be part of Mexico again and the only reason it gets support in Cali is a combination of Hispanic loyalty and white fear. If the talk became a reality, California would scream and cry to the US to save them from Mexico. In a nutshell, most are a bunch of whiny wimps who are too afraid to stand up for themselves. Probably one of the core reasons I never moved back. After living in a conservative state, I no longer want to live my life as a victim.

They may not 'want it' to be part of Mexico but it is de facto becoming just that as will any other part of this nation if/when it becomes increasingly Latino. Of course then there is the whole Hispanic Caucus & LaRaza thing...

There are only two ways to solve this. Kick California out of the Union or go in and start removing the Mexicans, by force if necessary. Otherwise that state will drag the rest of the country into a Third World pit.

Last summer I was in a Walmart in Colorado Springs. The customers and employees were all neatly dressed, English speaking White folks.

Went to the doctor recently. I saw NO whites at all in the lobby of the building. Once I got into the waiting room, there were a few, very few, elderly whites in the waiting room. The doctor was the only other white I saw.

The only whites left here in LA are older people on fixed incomes who can’t get out, and people whose jobs are well-paying enough to live in the few remaining nice neighborhoods, I guess. I can’t wait to get out myself, but am not at retirement age yet.
