Russia has a history of also helping our enemies kill Americans. They back the islamo-terrorist sponsor of Iran who backs the militia in Iraq. They aided Saddam Hussein even after the war began. They continue to supply arms and make deals with various marxist/socialist dictatorships hostile to the US throughout Latin America. They stand behind North Korea and the ChiComs. In fact, they’ve been conducting joint war games with the ChiComs since 2005 in preparation for a confrontation with the West.

Lets not confuse the USSR with current Russia.

Also, we have a lot of folks on here who support Free Trade with Communist China....so that is kinda moot. Free Trade with Communist China supports the Communist Chinese....and by proxy the North Koreans

Unless you are willing to put tariffs on the Communist Chinese...you (and any other Free Trade Communist supporter) are just as bad as Putin and the Russians. Nothing helps an enemy more than subsidizing their economy

He even fooled Bush. Remember when baby Bush came back from Russia and claimed he'd looked into Putin's eyes and saw his soul.

GW Bush was far from a Reagan when it came to the Russians, but I think that episode had more to do with him just trying to put Putin on the spot. ie, "go ahead, prove I'm a liar".

Perhaps.

Guys like Putin play for keeps and give very little during negotiations. They are cunning.

U.S. politicians are idiots. The last great politician was Ronald Reagan. In the U.K. was Maggie Thatcher.

Upcoming folks like Ted Cruz and such could be great. Will see.

I do think, juss my lil ol pinion, if Sarah Palin were in the Senate could become one of the great politicians of our time.

She is quick, conservative, witty, intelligent and lays out an argument with much forethought to stimulate deeper debate. Cruz is a great debater as well.

You friggin idiot. How many times now have I told you I'm no supporter of free trade with the ChiComs. You post this crap all the time and apparently never come back to read the response. What could make you possibly think that I support Communist China in any way is beyond understanding. You must have the intelligence of a hand ball.

America’s military is used to destroy certain governments to create anarchy which is then filled by the other big spenders on capitol hill the Saudis who then install their wahhibist villainy.

I wonder how many of Saddam's WMD Putin is helping to hide.

I have suspicions that this is the main reason Obama cooked up the scheme of giving Putin the job of overseeing Syria...to hide the fact that George Bush was right when he said Iraq had WMD.

Well the full quote makes way more sense:

Above all, we should acknowledge that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a major geopolitical disaster of the century. As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. Tens of millions of our co-citizens and compatriots found themselves outside Russian territory. Moreover, the epidemic of disintegration infected Russia itself. Individual savings were depreciated, and old ideals destroyed. Many institutions were disbanded or reformed carelessly. Terrorist intervention and the Khasavyurt capitulation that followed damaged the country's integrity. Oligarchic groups – possessing absolute control over information channels – served exclusively their own corporate interests. Mass poverty began to be seen as the norm. And all this was happening against the backdrop of a dramatic economic downturn, unstable finances, and the paralysis of the social sphere.

Thanks, that puts Putin’s words in contest. I suspect he’s worried a lot more about the integrity and domestic order of Russia than putting one over on the USA.
