GREENSBORO, NC -

A North Carolina law requiring women who want an abortion to have an ultrasound and then have a medical provider describe the image to them is a violation of constitutional free-speech rights, a federal judge ruled Friday.

This ruling should restore the free speech rights of tobacco companies. If a "health care provider" may not be compelled, neither can a cigarette maker. Equal protection and all that.

Ginsberg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan are certain to back the judge. Kennedy and Roberts will be the swing votes. If Kennedy decides to back the judge, Roberts might be “persuaded” to join him in order to give more weight to the ruling.

Regardless of the particulars, I notice a trend in all these stories.

To wit: federal judges striking down state laws or state court decisions.

Gee, you might think the federal bench was loaded with a bunch of statists drunk on absolute power.

The ‘black-robed tyrants’ are showing their full cloth now that we live in a post-Constitutional America. There are still some admirable justices out there, but they are becoming fewer. Considering most federal benches are populated with statist pukes appointed by Obama and his cronies, this is going to get MUCH worse.

How many times must we watch judges bloviate about preserving public order, safety, etc. when they are nakedly protecting The State and expanding its power? It’s almost axiomatic these days.

Because these women who were too dumb to use birth control are smart enough to know when to kill their child.

Apparently a 13 year old is only able to legally consent to murdering her infant, informed consent of that decision be damned by the State.
