Laura Bush canít wait to turn the tables on the first man to occupy the position she held as the spouse of a president. ďMaybe we should be that way about the First Gentleman, also, and really critique the way they look all the time,Ē she said in an interview with C-SPAN, referring to the scrutiny so often heaped on first spouses ó who have all been women....

RE :”In another video, the elder Bush says she is “a great respecter” of Michelle Obama, and resents her critics’ focus on combating obesity who think “government shouldn’t tell you what to eat.”
“Well, somebody’s got to tell these people what to eat,” she says”

She's pro-abortion pro-gay marriage too,

Maybe she's trying to knife Christie in the back to help Jeb.

Michelle Obama is just Barbara Bush 3.0, after Laura was 2.0. I know people would give me trouble, but I don;t respect either of these ladies any more than Mrs. Obama. There is no reason to.

Barbara Bush has jumped the shark. She is not the woman I used to respect and admire. Her words are cruel and insulting. Shame, shame on your Barbara!

I don't have a problem with what Laura said. The First Male will undergo scrutiny if we ever get one.

But Barbara Bush's comment? That's another story.

So who do you like as First Lady? Moochelle the Gorilla or Hillary the Cankles?

Absolutely not.

First, note that she doesn't refer to our people, or The People. She refers to these people. "These" people are "other" people. They are little people.

The ruling class makes the rules, and lives by their own rules, which pretty much allow them to do whatever they want. In the highly unlikely event that multi-billionaire Mike Bloomberg wanted a large sugary drink from a 7-Eleven, he'd simply send three or four thralls in for small ones, who would act as cup-holders until their next mission.

My first thought - anti-Christie as well.

According to former First Lady Laura Bush, there is no room for fat Presidents.

One wonders how she views her mother-in-law Barbara Bush.

Maybe it's just me but I have noticed that Barbara qualifies as obese, as medical standards go, so we can have fat First Ladies, just not "First Gentlemen!"

“Well, somebody’s got to tell these people what to eat,” she says”

“Let them eat cake”

You don’t tell people what to do unless they are breaking the law. You can encourage them to eat healthier and to exercise more, but she nor the government has any business telling me what to eat.

Not a fan of either Bush Presidents...but I voted for both. I really don’t want to see Bush III. This is not a Monarchy.

I do take issue w/ taking shots on what people look like vs talking about policy issues/differences. I don’t care if someone is thin, pudgy or truly fat. I just don’t care. I care about policy and how they would govern.

And I really don’t give two hoots about First Ladies. They just are not important to me at all.

But since someone mentioned cake...that sounds tasty. I wish I had some. I’m thinking a nice yellow two layer w/ coconut icing.

Intolerance is a terrible thing to go through life holding inside. Being so hateful toward people who don’t agree with you sounds just like a liberal. We all know people like you. Moaners, groaners, complainers about everything. Never a positive thing to say about anyone or anything.

You don’t think *someone* should tell morbidly obese people how or what to eat? To paraphrase Justice Holmes, “three generations of lardasses are enough.”

A person whose girth consumes an entire supermarket aisle clearly doesn’t know how or what to eat. That deficit causes all manner of health issues that need expensive medical treatment. Guess who’s gonna pay for it?

While I vehemently oppose abortion, Laura was a lady in her duties as First Lady. A strong contrast with Hillary and Michelle. I appreciated the dignity which she brought to the position.

Nice liberal misuse of the word "tolerance" there. What exactly is "hateful" about acknowledging Laura Bush's support of abortion and queer marriage? I would hope you don't agree with her on those issues.

A word of advice to someone even newer than me: don't roll up in here with an attitude. A little politeness will help you.

Well, aren’t we just holier than thou? You seem to have an overly inflated view of your own self-importance to me. A little less hatefulness on your part would be helpful too.

I don’t necessarily hate everyone in society that hold different views or positions than I do. One can like the person but not agree with everything they believe in. But if that were the rule, there would be no one to like or admire in the world because no two people can agree on everything. It must be a lonely place in your universe.
