Posted on 01/19/2014 9:12:26 AM PST by DariusBane
A Metro passenger used his cell phone's video camera to capture a confrontation between a woman and two LA County sheriff's deputies on a bus in Bellflower.
Why shouldn’t these kinds of videos be posted on FreeRepublic?
Soon to be tried in change of venue to Fullerton where they’ll be acquitted.
That’s no “girl”.
I just can’t believe what my country has turned into.
They are. Look at post #2, to which you posted. I’m glad embedding videos isn’t allowed, opening a thread could launch as many as 50 different viewers, which would crush bandwidth.
So I guess she deserved her beating?
The vet on the bus deserved to be threatened with arrest?
That veteran hit the nail on the head at so many levels. He should run for office. The cops involved should be fired and brought up on felony assault charges. Follow it up with civil suit against the city / county. Next, conspiracy charges.
Eviscerate the baastard
I don't see where I said that.
The vet on the bus deserved to be threatened with arrest?
Don't see where I said that either.
Are you drunk?
Responsibility2nd in a different thread is very offended that we are becoming a “cop hating” website. He has expressed disdain for posts such as this. So that post was only meant to him in a narrow context.
Wow! That’s some scary stuff. I know that we don’t know both sides of the story but this would seem to be a little over the top. I don’t know where this is going but they’ve met their match with the veteran who took the video. Smart guy and great “old school” American. He knows the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong.
Maybe she gets on but doesn’t get off, but what makes this entirely in her favor is the Cop whacking her. Uncalled for. The cop needs to be removed, especially with that much lack of self control.
Oh dear humble. This is a conversation on a forum, and thankfully not a blog post.
Can’t we talk about it?
Unfortunately sober as a choir boy. You?
Good for that Vet for standing up to the thugs.
What the hell is wrong with cops nowadays?
What is the Obamaspeak term for this? Ah, yes! “Community interaction enhancements” I’m sure they will assist her on the way to the hospital with signing up for Obamacare, a free phone, an EBT Card, and some sort of transitioning handbook. A special chapter on how not to throw one’s face into the fists or billy-club of a state agent.............
Thank you Mr. Green for refusing to knuckle under to the thugs with badges.
Police Pummel Ping!
Null, I already pinged him. Out of respect for you of course!
She must have threatened to throw popcorn on him.
How’s the dog.
Too bad the described baby carriage full of pillows was not shown in the video.
Until it happens to you and yours, most prefer to ignore the fact that cops have become police state jackbooted thugs.
My kids got their own taste of it last Spring. Big thug cops like to beat up girls apparently.
They are doing exactly what their master want them to.
We even have cheerleaders (with knee-pads) right here on FR...
All cops are now above the law and they know it. Their actions show they have no fear of the public and in fact want to instill fear in the public. At worst the guy will be sent home for a couple of weeks of paid vacation while his enablers judge him to be blameless. Then he is back out once more serving the public. We have allowed this with our vision of cops like Andy and Barney, well we aint in Mayberry anymore.
OK. I did not know that. Cross-thread discussions can get confusing. If he’s alarmed at FR becoming anti-JBT, he’s one of the last. The fact of the matter is, while cops have always placed themselves above the rest of us little people, they’ve been getting progressively more abusive to “civilians,” more insulated from the consequences of their actions.
Literally getting away with murder of those guilty of “Contempt of Cop.”
I sometimes miss the former/present cops that used to post here all the time, gleefully reminiscing at all the Maglite Migraines they’ve dispensed, how many clean citizens they’ve dirtied by filing bogus charges “just to teach the little s***s a lesson.” Disorderly Conduct was one of the favorites. Sure, they’d get charges thrown out in court after the little person spends a few thousand dollars, but fingerprints and now DNA are on record.
They laugh at us.
Yeah I used to tussle with the cops, ex cops a lot. They used to talk about “extra judicial punishment” while making arrests. They were proud of it and expected to be congratulated. I was of course horrified.
The cops deserve a bullet each to their heads, and their entrails fed to wild animals. These are the tyrants who will prepare the trains to the ovens when the time arrives.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. The fact that these cops thought they had found a home here at FreeRepublic says a whole lot about the previously powerful roll that the Law and Order Conservatives played in Republican politics.
Once upon a time, I lamented it when a cop got shot.
Now, I more often wonder what he or she did to deserve it.
I am convinced we need to disarm police in the U.S. like in Great Britain. Won’t stop stuff like this, but might take some of the intimidation factor away.
Not to sound like a smart A$$,but what is special needs about the woman who got punched?
He be playin’ knock out. Je’s a game. Je’s sayin’. Holder say no prob.
Only way I can see that happening is if she spit on me. And video is not clear enough to see whether that happened.
Someone spits on me, I am punching even if I end up getting beat down.
Mental illness. "Special needs" is just a dumb euphemism.
Not in that order, however.
The cops themselves are causing the breakdown in law and order. They are losing the respect of the people with their illegal and immoral behavior.
I just finished reading an article about Georgia (the former Soviet country). They were having trouble with massive corruption among their traffic cops that were leftovers from the Soviet era, and they ended up firing them ALL. All 30,000 cops were shaking down the people for bribes. Crimes immediately fell to almost zero, not simply because there wasn’t anybody to report them to, but because people discovered the cops were the ones responsible for the vast majority of the crimes.
Might not be mentally ill, might simply be what we used to call "retarded".
The same thing that's wrong with Congressmen, executive-branch bureacrats, school teachers, corporate CEOs and CFOs, university presidents and provosts, and pretty much any one else whose job description involves power or money held in trust or managed on behalf of others: they all think their position exists for their benefit, not those whom they are in theory being paid to serve (or in the case of police serve and protect, and the nearly universal police department motto puts it). We live in the Era of Bad Stewards. Virtually everyone in a position of trust is corrupt, if not outright, and directly (whether on the take or contriving to get pay packages with no relation to performance), then by virtue of wanting to expand the reach, power and influence of their offices beyond what the good they theoretically serve would warrant.
In cops it comes out a little differently, as violence, either as in this case violence perpetrated against innocents on some pretext or intimidation of people who want to fix their unsustainable pension fund, swagger, and violation of constitutional right (they in theory are supposed to defend). But it's the same mindset.
You wanted him to hold that opinion so dearly that you gave it to him.
Hopefully you’re not a cop.
what is special needs about the woman who got punched?...She needed another Big Mac.
Oh yes. That's our own experience. In fact, we go to court in the next week because of that very thing. Cops don't care who they punch, maim and then destroy by filing bogus charges to cover for their unlawful thuggery.
Then we discover that the unlawful entry by the cops is immaterial because the bogus charge they levied washes away the fact they had no business to break and enter without any cause, warrant or justification outside of wanting to show two women how big and bad they could be.
And yes, their excuse is that they felt 'threatened' because my kids walked away from a closed and locked door after refusing them entry. We learned that cops have authority to "create a situation to effect an arrest" - meaning that according to the "laws" written mostly after 9-11, that cops are trained to incite, intimidate, threaten and create any situation they deem necessary when they decide they want to arrest someone. Anyone. For any reason.
It was shocking to discover that is the 'law'. But we have learned that legislators decided cops 'need to do their duty unimpeded' - and thus the reason we are seeing cases like this every single day. Cops are trained to see civilians as terrorists. And if you dare cite the Constitution and your rights - the cops will do to you what they did to my kids, and perhaps even worse.
Welcome to the police state.
I disagree we are just noticing it due to cell phone cameras and they are picking on more of the middle class.
