(CNN) -- In another controversy surrounding New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer said Sunday that Christie directly ordered the withholding of Superstorm Sandy recovery funds unless she backed a redevelopment plan he favored.
Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union," Zimmer said she was told by a member of Christie's administration that Sandy relief funds hinged on her support for a real estate development project and that the directive was coming directly from Christie.
"She said that to me -- is that this is a direct message from the Governor," Zimmer said, referring to Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, who Zimmer said approached her in a parking lot in May to deliver the message. It's "stunning" and "outrageous," but true, the Hoboken mayor told CNN's Candy Crowley. "I stand by my word."

I know Christie. This is all BS. I wouldn’t want him for POTUS (Cruz, Paul, Perry, Walker, and West are my top 5) but this in nonsense. Christie is as pristine a politician you will find. They are taking our top players out of the lineup. Sure, they are doing us a favor by getting Christie out of the way, but they are sending a message to our eventual nominee.
Zimmer better have solid evidence of that or she’s toast.
Images of journal entries - there needs to be some forensics done on the hard copies... very convenient that she mentions she usually likes to type on her computer in this, her first handwritten journal entry, that just happens to deal with Christie...

I’ll keep saying it. Walker has the same union busting credentials and his states running a surplus. Plus he carrying Wisconsin is a better chance than Christie carrying NJ in a national election.

How can any reasonable person scream about this Hoboken crap? This is exactly the same thing as when Obama promised taxpayer funds — “the cornhusker kickback” and “the Louisiana purchase” a couple of years ago — for votes on his Obamacare. No different than supporting a redevelopment project for funds. It’s called politics.

This story is not smelling right. There’s a post upthread that says the Mayor of Hoboken was demanding 40% of the entire state’s grant for Sandy relief, and the scuffle is over the amount allocated to Hoboken.

Actually I am sort of with you, republicans need to sit down and shut up on this one. But...they won’t.
I noted in 2011 that potentials candidates were ripped apart before they ever had a chance. Not by the democrats really, but by our own.
Oddly I pondered ...do we seek our own messiah? Must our candidate be perfection? Can any mere mortal human being meet our inflated standards?
What character flaws are we willing to overlook...to have a decent president? Yes, yes, and yes...this is not a defense of Christie, but an observation as we begin vetting our own. 0bama became President compliments of a compliant media unwilling to look into his very basic past history. To this very day we have no authentic birth certificate, no college grades, and heck no fellow classmates even dare speak of knowing him back then? But wait, was it really the compliance of the media that failed to vet him or was it the democrat party itself?
On the flipside we have a republican party that will tear into the tiniest of details of a man’s life. And they we complain when we end up with RINO candidates.
Yes indeed look to the content of Christie’s character and if the allegations prove true, he is not fit for the office of President, and he may not be fit for his current office either.
I don’t think she has it either. Something she wrote down isn’t going to cut it.
