Super Bowl XLVIII: Denver's Surgical Passing Attack vs. Seattle's Brash Secondary

"Omaha" versus "You mad, bro?"

Super Bowl XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks is setting up to be a classic contest in which the surgical Peyton Manning will try to perhaps cap off his career and legacy against the brash--and best (ask Richard Sherman)--Seattle secondary that has smothered the league's best wide receivers all season long.

Simply put, the league's top offense (Denver) will face the league's top defense (Seattle). Something has to give.

Might not mean much, but we (Seattle) cleaned Denvers clock pre-season 40-10

Well find out whether or not the pre-season was a taste of things to come, or a lucky day for Seattle.

What gets me is people keep talking about it like it’s some kind of fluke.

IIRC, Seattle has been their NFC divisional champs something like 6 out of the last 8 years.

Manning has seen this “brash” crap before and eaten it up. He is too smart for these knuckle draggers to stop.

At least it’s not New England and their giant ego.

No fluke, but we’ll see who has the better team soon enough.

True enough!

I think this could end up being a very good SB.

I HOPE the refs let them play, and at this point, I’m confident enough in both teams to look forward to a fair, gentlemanly game, where each play their best!

I’ve never been one to admire talkers-even if they could back up the hype. I admire Manning for his focus. Generally, he lets his game do the talking.

I’m with you. I sure hope the refs don’t decide the game, if you know what I mean. At least we won’t have to worry about a head coach playing. :^)

This match up reminds me of the scene in Fried Green Tomatoes when the young chicks whip into a parking spot in front of a middle aged woman. The middle aged woman just crashes the car out of the way and takes the parking spot.

Go Peyton...hang tough Denver defense!!!

I like Manning’s manner win or lose after the games. He never rushes off the field, ignoring handshakes, like some others. Brady did accept a couple handshakes, including Manning’s.

Well, I’m a Seattle fan, live here and have been to a couple games, back in Kingdome days.

And there were a couple calls (or lack of them) today that seemed to benefit Seattle, and I was starting to think “I hope we don’t win this way...”

But Wilson, Lynch, and the receivers made up for that and took the lead.

And the defense hammered it home. Seattle special teams have always been worth watching, but this defense is the best I’ve seen in the NFL in years.

So it wasn’t the purtiest game I ever watched, but both teams played their butts off, and Seattle seized (and deserved) the win!

Broncos won’t need that much defense (as usual) It’s all about the man (Manning) on offense.

We’re winning BIG TIME!

Huh? This is Seattle’s second time there, the first being in 2005-2006 season where we won.

Interesting stat on Richard Sherman. This season he was thrown at 58 times. 8 of those were interceptions.

I predict a tighter point margin, but Broncos will take home the Lombardi Trophy.

He’s a lot like his Daddy. He let his play do the talking, too.
