Pitfalls of Immigration Reform (GOP Amnesty Summit starts 1/29 at luxury MD resort!)
National Review ^ | 1/20/14 | Fred Bauer

The GOP must steer clear of guest-worker programs and legalization without citizenship.

Two of the basic rules of democratic politics are: Don’t hurt your allies, and don’t give your electoral opponents a weapon to use against you. As House Republican leaders prepare to announce their immigration principles near the end of this month, they should be aware of both rules. Two policies they are considering endorsing — legalization without citizenship and a massive increase in guest-worker visas — could sabotage the GOP’s standing with its base while also closing off future electoral roads.

Legalization without citizenship would split the base and offer few political dividends with the center. The driving force behind many Republicans’ skepticism about an immigration deal is not a fear that illegal immigrants will be granted citizenship; it is a worry that legalization will be traded for empty promises of enforcement. Legalization without citizenship, then, may be too clever by half: It sounds like an equitable splitting of the difference, but it misses the real point of concern for many Americans.

RE :”BRILLIANT!!!!! My congressman is a whacko moonbat leftist!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!”

You can also use Jimbos idea with this.

Point out how this will just increase the inequality gap by pitting more workers at the bottom against each other, and they don't even get a vote to vote for minimum wage or paid sick leave. Tell them its sellout to greedy corporations (See?? It can be fun too!)

If you start talking conservative to real libs they tune out fast.

Constitutio Antoniniana

The Constitutio Antoniniana (Latin: “Constitution [or Edict] of Antoninus”) (also called the Edict of Caracalla or the Antonine Constitution) was an edict issued in 212,[1] by the Roman Emperor Caracalla declaring that all free men in the Roman Empire were to be given theoretical Roman citizenship and that all free women in the Empire were to be given the same rights as Roman women.

According to Cassius Dio, the only Roman historian to talk about this edict, and with only one sentence, the reasons Caracalla passed this law were mainly to increase the number of people available to tax. In the words of Cassius Dio: “This was the reason why he made all the people in his empire Roman citizens; nominally he was honouring them, but his real purpose was to increase his revenues by this means, inasmuch as aliens did not have to pay most of these taxes.”[2] It should, however, be noted that Cassius Dio generally saw Caracalla as a bad, contemptible emperor.

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ‘ annual population growth(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens .

Immigration from Mexico is 2.5 times that of Europe. You read that right: Immigration from one country, Mexico, is 2.5 times that of many countries combined.

Facts that need to be repeated, emailed, etc. - to friends, family and to Reps in DC!
