I tend to agree. It’s kind of a default topic for him. Most people here know my feelings on this, but I tend to favor Western medicine myself. I don’t see Big Pharma as the Great Satan. Much like our political a d economic systems it has its problems but beats the hell out of the alternatives, IMO. On the other hand I am not completely close minded about alternatives—accupuncture for example. It didnt work for my particular condition but maybe it would work for you. Ironically, one non-western practice that I am a booster if is Hatha yoga and Savage ridicules it, calling the practitioners nymphomaniacs.(Dont know what he thinks about the men.)
Savage endorses homeopathy. Need I say more?
Savages remarks after Angelina Jolie revealed her surgery last year in my opinion was as bad as his autism debacle, and that was the shot heard round the world, the talk radio world anyway. You want to know what I really think happened on that July day back in 2008? I think Savage had had a little to drink and got autism and ADHD mixed up. The next day he was too embarrassed to admit it and made phony apologies and tried to recast himself as the victim. Children probably are over diagnosed with ADHD, autism not so much, IMO.
I find it curious that he’s always bitching about mothers giving children sugary foods and drinks at Starbucks yet Rockstar energy drinks aren’t exactly the healthiest for young people.
As far as Peter Breggin goes, he was well known and had published books before he was on Savages show. For another perspective on him, see www.quackwatch.org

Sorry but this suicide-by-hanging business is a sensitive issue with me. Savage steps on the woman’s comments then suggests the bf should have had some vitamin C in club soda and asked a deli worker how his day is.
These types of cheer-up tips are good for the garden variety blues and situational moods were all subject to. But for the kind of mental illness this guy had, it’s like a bandaid on a sucking chest wound. Why were t the drugs working for him? Maybe he wasn’t taking them according to directions, maybe he was mixing them with other substances, maybe he just wasn’t being adequately monitored.
