This answers my question. I would have asked this of Byron Cook but he will not face voters in a 2 minute talk at the county exec session or a debate or by phone with a single voter. I have tried.
Since you explained this let me state further, giving a PERMIT to illegals still makes them more “legal” when they shouldn’t be here at all!
Yes, I would like to know who they are but they still won’t deport, call ICE or anything to make it more uncomfy for them to be here.
I would rather have bills that forbid employers from hiring, landlords from renting and NO absolutely NO NO NO Welfare, food stamps and basically the same rules Mexico has for their southern border.
I don’t want to make it easier to stay or appear legal. But that is just me.
Making them take a driver's test and background check and having to get auto insurance is safety for all of us driving on the roads as long as they are here. They can't use the permits for voting as that permit labels them as not being citizens.

Years ago, in the early to mid 1980s, I was in a Mexican restaurant in Clear Lake, Texas, where NASA is, and there was an evident commotion happening in the restaurant. Cop types were rounding up illegals working in the kitchen of that place and the illegals were marched out of that restaurant and that made it into the newspaper. What happened between that time and now when they can work anywhere? These days, the cop types would probably be arrested for violating the rights of the illegals. Our country has turned upside down since the 1980s.
