Apparently fully content with the state of the economy, America's foreign affairs in pristine shape requiring none of the president's attention, and no golf course left untouched, Obama reverted to more important things over the weekend. Like the relative merits of pot and booze.
CNN summarized it as follows: "Marijuana, which is still placed in the same category as heroin, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms by the federal government, is no more dangerous than alcohol, President Barack Obama said in an interview published Sunday. Speaking to New Yorker editor David Remnick, Obama said he still viewed pot smoking negatively but that on the whole, the drug wasnt the social ill that its been viewed as in the past."
As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I dont think it is more dangerous than alcohol, Obama told the weekly magazine.
The president said pot was actually less dangerous than alcohol in terms of its impact on the individual consumer.

Very funny! I especially liked Harry Reid toking up.
I have heard the claim that pot is not addictive, at least not physically, where-as alcohol is clearly physically addictive.
Brave New World needs Soma
It is just silly to try and prohibit it. If people really want it, they should be able to have it.
Pot (taxed), gambling (taxed) , same sex sodomy licenses,
a drugged population puts up less resistance
exactly the reasoning in the book
I think he understood something there that even Ayn Rand overlooked, although she pegged leftists.
With the Choom Gang in the WH, it would be difficult for a parent to tell his kid not to smoke grass.
But I bet the next Republican who comes along that has admitted to a bit of toking will still get a colonoscopy from the journ-0-lists.

I also noticed that from where I live a Balkan-ized society that is composed of dozens of national cliques doesn’t resist either, you can raise their taxes as much as you want as well as adding endless mommy state driving offenses and green energy mandates, its like sheep. They don’t care.
“a drugged population puts up less resistance”
Very concise summary statement.
That’s billboard material right there.
LOL ... I think you and HollyB are interchangeable too.
No were not. She's much better looking :)
The trademark of drugged sheep is ‘I don’t care if they.......it doesn’t affect me very much”
LOL ... the ladies always are. We dudes is dudes. Ladies are ladies. We dudes is dudes. Singular.
Let’s see...GWBush is a reformed alcoholic. BHO is a reformed pothead. Who better to lead the nation?
Later in the interview, when Mr. Obama was told that Mayor Bloomberg had said that A fifth of Jack Daniels is not more dangerous than a 16 oz. Cola, Obama responded Amen to that, Brother!
Agreed. It’s not my thing, never has been. However, from what I’ve observed alcohol seems to cause more negative consequences than marijuana.
OBAMA ON DRUGS
Obama, is a great role model for the American youth.
In Dreams of My Father Barack Obama bragged about smoking reefer, drinking beer and enthusiastically doing drugs.
Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them, like this quote from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out - we have a lot of work to do.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.
My other personal concern is the evil entities behind the fool.
