Wendy Davis Exaggerates Success Story: "I Need to Focus More on Details"
Townhall.com ^ | January 20, 2014 | Cortney O'Brien

Texans are all too familiar with her story. State Senator Wendy Davis overcame hardship as a divorced teenage mother living in a trailer before eventually getting accepted into Harvard Law school and scoring political victories - at least, according to her campaign team. She and her staff have used this narrative to fundraise in the Texas governor’s race and media outlets like the Today show have gushed over her success story. Now, it turns out Davis has not been so “successful” in telling the whole truth about her past.

The Dallas Morning News is clarifying some of the state senator’s blurry details:

Davis was 21, not 19, when she was divorced. She lived only a few months in the family mobile home while separated from her husband before moving into an apartment with her daughter.

A single mother working two jobs, she met Jeff Davis, a lawyer 13 years older than her, married him and had a second daughter. He paid for her last two years at Texas Christian University and her time at Harvard Law School, and kept their two daughters while she was in Boston. When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. Wendy Davis was directed to pay child support.

But don’t worry, Davis has a good excuse for coloring her past:

"My language should be tighter," she said. "I’m learning about using broader, looser language. I need to be more focused on the detail."

New York Magazine calls Davis’s fabrication her campaign’s “first bump in the road.” First? Clearly, these editors haven’t been following Lone Star State politics. The Democratic senator’s exposed inaccuracy is just the latest in her “not ready for prime time” gubernatorial campaign. First it was absence on the campaign trail, then her inability to answer questions and recently her team’s “fuzzy math.” Not to mention, she has been avoiding the one issue for which she became famous, since it won’t get her many votes in the deeply conservative state.

Regardless of how fuzzy the details are in her background, if Davis wants to be governor of Texas, her story may not have a happy ending.

Another fun tidbit: #MoreFakeThanWendyDavis is trending on Twitter right now.

It takes a great deal to see pappy get custody in a divorce, does it not? Were we lobbying the Haaavvaad professors too well?

In the majority of custody cases, fathers have overwhelming odds against them unless they can prove the mother is unfit..

That is being charitable at best, a woman that loses her kids are usually incarcerated for extended terms, or don't want them.. Or as in my case, I got the kids to shut me up.. My bet this is the true case..

The second husband's filing papers in her divorce case, when she gave up custody of her children, one from each marriage, claimed she was an adulteress.. The claim was dropped after she relinquished any claim to custody..

Wow, when several Texas newspapers expose her resume as at best deficient and at worst a fraud she is in trouble. And I never thought of the Dallas Morning News as conservative but it is pointing out the blemishes.

This Texas woman will never vote for her for reasons of ignorance.

If Wendy’s brains were dynamite, she wouldn’t have enough to blow her nose.

She might be able to get away with embellishing(I’m being charitable with that word)the truth in a blue state like Connecticut, Illinois, or California but in Texas the good folks down there will send her to a crashing defeat in November. At least I hope so because if nut case liberals like Davis can actually win a statewide race in the Lone Star State then it means the Democrats may have a lock on the electoral college for a long time to come.

“Or as in my case, I got the kids to shut me up.” Please, explain.

The mother committing adultery does not enter into the equation in Texas. The courts simply wants to know where the kids will be better off. With that said, the court typically assumes the kids will be better off with the mother. In this case, I have a feeling she simply didn’t want them.

No dirty laundry from me out in public, however, I can relate to being given the children without contest, having information that could strain future relationships and reputations had the contest continued through the courts and became public..

I am suggesting that Ms Davis relinquished her custody battle to prevent the adultery accusation to come to fruition through the discovery process, in the court case, thus at least destroying any possible future political aspirations..

The other possibility is that she just didn’t want the kids, no matter how it looked, but that is a much better explanation for her uber-abortion stance..

She is another elizabeth warren

Yeah but it worked for Fauxchahontas - really well, in fact.

To the 47%, the devil himself would be better than any republican. It will all be forgotten when the media remind all of us why this woman, while somewhat flawed is still better than any dried up old republican.

So what she spread her legs to get everything she has? She abandoned her kids? - only to serve the greater good . . .

She is a high priestess of abortion - trump card

She has two problems. She is in Texas and not commiechusetts and Texans are not the droids of that communist state.
