But he didnt listen to the campaign, and the result is the implosion of Wendy Davis personal and political narratives
Wendy Davis, the progressive movements Texas darling because of her pro-late term abortion filibuster, is withering under revelations that much of her narrative of struggle and financial hardship is misleading at best, fabricated at worst.
The wagons are being circled around her with claims of a War on Women and sexism all because the truth has come out via an interview with her husband by the Dallas Morning News, and other investigation.
There even are accusations by Texas Democratic political operatives that the campaign of her opponent, Gregg Abbott, has been peddling the story. So far, however, the facts revealed by the Dallas Morning News have not been contested.
In fact, bits of the story were revealed in a Houston Chronicle article on September 2, 2013, but no one paid attention because the Chronicle story was not as detailed and Davis would not announce her run for the Governorship for another month. There was no campaign narrative yet developed, as there is now and as to which the Dallas Morning News article is devastating.
Among other things, the Chronicle story revealed that Davis ex-husband cashed in his 401k to pay for her law school, and also that a loan was taken out and that she left just after the final payment:
Their daughter, Dru, was born while Wendy was at TCU. After graduation, Wendy was accepted to Harvard Law School, and Jeff said he cashed in a 401(k) to help pay the cost ..
In November 2003 the same month a Harvard loan was paid off she left, Jeff said. I made the last payment and laughed, he said.
Wendy stressed that they used their family resources to make her education possible because they thought it was beneficial for our family.
We took out a loan in that third year, and we paid it off as a family, she said, adding that she made a nice income as a lawyer and helped build their title company. Jeff describes it as his company but said she got half when it was sold during the divorce.
Heres the key thing.
The Wendy Davis campaign has been trying to keep Jeff Davis from speaking to the press for months. According to the Houston Chronicle article (emphasis added):
Theyve asked me not to talk to reporters, Jeff said. He is anyway, because: If she runs, the scrutiny on her will be extraordinary. She needs to deal with it in a constructive way. She needs to take control of the message. My goal in all this, I think, is just try and protect the kids as much as I can.
Now we know why. Wendy Davis personal and campaign narratives dont hold up to scrutiny.
Davis ex-husband saw it coming. And so did the Davis campaign, which tried to keep him quiet.
Only the progressive movement and the big money donors didnt have a clue as to what they were buying into.
The media will defend this woman because they love abortion as much as she does..they should close their eyes and pretend they are reporting on Sarah Palin, then they would report on this story
Are those his or her feet?
She’s a liar...fits just right with the DIMocRATs.
Rhymes with witch and begins with a B...
Democrat voters do not care about lying from their own candidates.
They use morals only to crush the opponent.
Democrat voters have no use for morals, and they do not believe anyone lives a moral life, and they don’t know anyone who does. They are cut off, much like the NY Governor stating publically that conservatives are not welcome in NY.
Just think of Christie saying the same about some exalted group which democrats use for power.
And democrats are so removed from morality that they don’t understand that it’s a work in progress, not a living saint.
And democrats don’t care what this screaming abortion promoter says, as long as she can get into the governorship.
And don’t think there are no liberal Texans.
He paid for her education thru law school. They divorced in 2005, after he paid the last of her education debt.
That is the shoes she wore during her 12 hour talk on the floor of the TX Senate.
Just because they asked, doesn’t mean you gotta obey
When you say “democrats”, I’m sure you mean voters as well as party leaders. The democrats I know, and no longer have anything to do with, continuously lie and/or accept lies. When you point out the lies they just shrug. And, as I pointed out, I no longer attempt to point out anything to the evil bastards. And I do believe that every democrat voter is evil because they openly support evil.
She used him like a sugar daddy
“The fact that a given person is holding or even seeking high-level public office is, in and of itself, proof that said person is morally and/or psychologically UNFIT to hold public office.” Ann Barnhardt. That statement is seeming less and less outrageous as the days go by.
Someone ought to ask Jeff how much he shelled out for plastic surgery on his ex-wife, too. She looks nothing like the photo from her TCU days. Not a plastic surgeon, but looks like she’s had the obligatory breast job, along with extensive facial work and they probably lipo’ed anything they could stick a needle in.
I’d say the total bill for Wendy’s little “makeover” probably exceeded her tuition at Harvard Law.
One more thing: the original divorce filing by Wendy’s Sugar Daddy ex-husband accused her of adultery. Can’t wait for the Boy Toy to surface.
Give credit to the Dallas Morning News for exposing the “real” Wendy Davis. I’d like to believe some GOP op research folks steered them in the right direction, but we know the GOP(E) has no stomach for this sort of thing, and they’re terrified of getting caught and being criticized by the MSM.
No, this implosion appears to be self-inflicted.
Lefties are so predictable. But, as long as the media complies and the sheeple believe everything the lame streams force feed them, it works.
Then again, he started dating her when she was around 21-22, and had her until she was 42, so I'm guessing he may have gotten his money's worth.
