Report: Wendy Davis' life story more complicated than compelling narrative (CNN/Pravda reports)

(CNN) - Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis admitted in an interview with the Dallas Morning News that she hasn't been totally accurate about her life's story, a compelling narrative she has used to appeal to voters in Texas and bolster her national profile.

"My language should be tighter," the Democratic state senator said. "I'm learning about using broader, looser language. I need to be more focused on the detail."

After her marathon filibuster against proposed abortion laws in the Texas legislature last summer, Davis was propelled to the national stage. The attention gave her the support and encouragement to announce a bid for governor in October.

She frequently shared her biography both before and after she started running for governor, saying she was a single mother by the age of 19 and lived in a trailer with her young daughter. From there, she eventually put herself through community college, Texas Christian University, and Harvard Law School with the help of scholarship and loans.

The Morning News, however, reported over the weekend that Davis became a single mother at 21, not 19, when she got divorced from her then-husband, who was directed to pay child support.

"She lived only a few months in the family mobile home while separated from her husband before moving into an apartment with her daughter," writes Wayne Slater, the paper's senior political writer.

Davis' campaign released a statement later Monday to clarify some of the details from her life.

“I’m learning about using broader, looser language.

This broad has been loose her whole life. Copulating her way up the ladder so to speak.

Methinks us conservatives accidentally took the bait.

By giving any scrutiny to Miss Davis, we are legitimizing her, as well as validating the "War on women" meme that, while counterintuitive, has proven itself to be very effective on peeling women voters away from the right.

The best "strategery" is just to stick to the issues and let her general ignorance finish her off in the general.

Remember what happened to Clayton Williams, one screw up got us "Ma" Richards.

“Remember what happened to Clayton Williams, one screw up got us “Ma” Richards. “

So what are her chances? From what I have read thus far, she’s not close to her opponent in the polls.

“compelling narrative” = “Lie”

What American Indian tribe is Davis a descendent of?

Ma Richards was getting her ass kicked by Clayton Williams up until his infamous “rape” gaffe, just saying we need to fight the war our way, not theirs.

You're supposed to be a lawyer and you're messing up language that badly?

Translation: I lied.

Typical leftist playing loose with the truth. But if her Republican opponent is wise he’ll leave it alone, as much as possible. Americans foolishly believe that a person can be a good public servant while showing “poor judgment” in their private affairs.

Wendy Davis first tried running as a Republican. Imagine that.

Remember it was the Dallas paper that printed this, hardly a conservative rag
and now more negative info is coming from other papers across the state

all we conservatives have to do is sit back and let her implode
which has started now as she is BLAMING Abbott for the reporter printing this
NOT accepting responsibility for the lies

Not only did she lie, she doesn’t even see it as such. In her mind she just used language improperly as it relates to her goal of achieving power and status. She is utterly amoral. Sort of reminds me of the woman that Petraeus had the affair with, or the chick that got killed in Presumed Innocent.

Reminds me of lyrics to the song "Sunshine"...

"...(she) can't even run (her) own life. I'll be damned if (she'll) run mine..."

Some compelling narrative. She supports the dismemberment of infants in late term abortion.

“Ma Richards was getting her ass kicked by Clayton Williams up until his infamous “rape” gaffe, just saying we need to fight the war our way, not theirs.”

Yes, we have lost more important elections in recent years due to “intemperate” remarks by candidates who should have been vetted better. It’s one thing for a guy like Akin to get continually re-elected in some jerkwater House district in MO where there are enough “like minded” people to guarantee his election, but when you move to a state-wide position, these people are thrown into an “environment” where there are a lot more “mainstream thinking” people who, despite the mantle of conservatism, won’t vote for them, because of their “kooky” ideas.
