A Syrian military police photographer has supplied "clear evidence" showing the systematic torture and killing of about 11,000 detainees in circumstances that evoked Nazi death camps, former war crimes prosecutors said.

Syrian officials could face war crimes charges as a result of the evidence provided by the photographer, who has defected, the three prosecutors said.

This just reinforces why the U.S. should stay out of Syria.

They need to stay out of the entire Middle East, and stop getting involved in the Intra-Arab, Intra-Muslim squabbles.

So you’ve got two devils fighting. Let them fight. What does America have to gain there? Wasting American blood or money there is foolish.

At 15 minutes/body for 50 bodies it’s 12.5 hours. At 30 minutes it’s 25 hours. Seems fishy. Psyops for a second go at American military might to benefit the Saudis?

I would support an insurgency movement to remove Assad from power and replace him with a pro-Western, democratic government that respects the right of ethnic and religious minorities. Unfortunately such an insurgency does not exist, the factions opposing the regime range from Sunni radical nationalists to outright Al-Qaeda.

Sad for the millions of innocent people stuck in the middle.

Assad killing people worse than him.

It’s like watching a death match between Hitler and Stalin.

You really don’t care who wins, just want one to die, and the other to get really hurt so you can pick him off.

Remember how we sent our troops to vastly improve Yugoslavia, and how successful it was? And how everyone there later LOVED us for doing that...?

OK, ok --me neither.

You remember THIS guy? At the time they screamed he'd been deliberately starved, that this was Auschwitz, and that the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo were latter-day Jews.

Ya know what? He's thin. Yeah, he's naturally just really thin.

Everyone saw that and in 0.0001 seconds made a snap judgement, and there was NOTHING THERE.

He's laughing because he understands his natural extreme thinness amazes the photographer --this has happened to him many times before at public pools, etc.

OMG!! We should go to war to help the other side!

These are the ones Obama is helping:

And the picture was faked to imply the men were imprisoned:

To film these refugees, Marshall and her cameraman Irvin entered a compound next to the camp area. Inside this small compound were a kind of garage shed, an electricity transformer station, and a brick barn. Before the war, horticultural products could be bought there and tractors and construction machinery had been housed in the barn. To protect all this from thieves, the compound area of approximately 500 square metres had been fenced-in with barbed wire a couple of years before. The erection of the barbed wire fence had nothing to do with the refugees, the camp or the war. The poles to which this barbed wire was attached are still standing today, and traces of the wire can be found on the west side of the compound.

When Marshall, Williams and Vulliamy entered the compound next to the camp, the barbed wire was already torn in several places. They did not use the open gate, but entered from the south through a gap in the fence. They approached the fence on the north side, where curious refugees quickly gathered inside the camp, but on the outside of the area fenced-in by barbed wire. It was through the barbed wire fence at this point that the famous shots of Fikret Alic were taken.

The unused footage shows how cameraman Irvin zoomed through the compound's barbed wire fence from various angles, apparently searching for the most dramatic shot. Most of the refugees in the camp were marked by their experience of the war, but few looked as emaciated as Fikret Alic. Yet he captured the camera's attention.

Assad’s responsible for over 100K dead Syrians, by far the bulk of the dead in the Syrian civil war, AND is a second gen thug, so this really doesn’t come as a surprise.

What cracks me up is all these morons flapping their gums about the right way to deal with this when the simple fact is that minding our own business is the only right way to deal with it.

They’re kind of like democrats but have a different way to blow money.

Every time we’ve removed a strongman in the mideast the country has collapsed into an endless cycle of violence with Christians taking the brunt of it. I’m starting to think that leaving Saddam Hussein in power was one of the smarter things the first Bush administration did.
