Carpinteria resident Santos Guevara Oliva will be made to answer to charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, forcible rape of a child, and a special allegation of inflicting great bodily injury to a child, ruled Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Teresa Estrada-Mullaney on Friday during Oliva’s preliminary hearing.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, if Oliva is found guilty of the charges, he will be the first alleged child molester in Santa Barbara County — and only one of a few statewide — to face a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. The counts against Oliva, 33, stem from an alleged incident in either August or September 2012 in which his 13-year-old stepdaughter claims he raped her. The girl went to Cottage Hospital in January 2013 complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath and was told by the doctor that she was about 17 weeks pregnant, according to Sheriff’s detective Chris Corbett, who testified at the preliminary hearing Friday.

A McAllen man remains behinds bars after being accused of having sex with an underage girl who had been reported as a runaway.
McAllen police booked 39-year-old Donay Rivera on two counts of a sexual assault of a child at the Hidalgo County Jail on Friday.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News show that Rivera is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
The girl's mother reported her as a runaway back on December 10th when she did not return home from a middle school in Edinburg.
Records show that the Rivera, who was a family friend, picked the girl up and took her to his home off North Taylor Road in McAllen.
Rivera allegedly told the girl that he loved her, had sex with her twice and then dropped her off at a restaurant in Alton the next day.
The girl returned to her family and later revealed what happened.
Rivera, who is listed as an illegal immigrant from Honduras, remained a fugitive in the case until his arrest.
Rivera remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under $200,000 dollars in bonds. Always seems to be friend of the family..Why are they giving him bail ?
And we need illegals here WHY? I would far rather pay market value, whatever it is, for a head of healthy lettuce picked by an American, a machine, or myself in my own garden than have these shadow people among us.
This would not have happened if the Republicans did not force him to live in the shadows. I say we deport him. In fact, I’ll even drive him to the border and promise that nothing bad like falling off a cliff with his hands chained behind him, or getting dragged behind my truck won’t happen.
I could do without lettuce all together if it would cleanse this country of the scourge of illegal immigration.
At some point, Americans are going to take matters into their own hands...
