Every member in the Davert family has a medical condition requiring special care. But after losing their preferred insurance upon the enactment of the Affordable Care Act and being denied federal coverage, the Michigan family is now worried about high costs associated with their new private plan.
According to The Bay City Times, Ken Davert has cerebral palsy and his wife, Missy, and their 15-year-old fraternal twins all have a condition called osteogensis imperfecta, which makes their bones very fragile.
The newspaper reported that the couple receives disability payments and are covered under Medicare. The states Childrens Special Health Care Services covers issues related to the teens bone condition but not their other health needs.
We received a letter from Blue Cross maybe four months ago stating that their plan was going to be canceled due to new requirements of Obamacare, Missy Davert told The Bay City Times. I can imagine they didnt fit criteria of the new plan. There were some particular benefits the new act didnt cover.

Health care is a right....if you can pay!!
Great proofreading, Glenn.
Okay, I’ll go there—folks with such heritable serious diseases probably shouldn’t have biological children.
To answer your question, the answer is YES.
and maybe you shunt unless you provide data showing just how inheritable heritable in these instance is
I read this story a week or so ago. My very first thought was why on earth did they have children. Without gov aid this couple couldn’t take care of themselves so it’s okay to add children to an already bad situation?
Genetic counseling before they got pregnant might have helped alleviate this sad story. There is such a thing as being stupid when the risk is high.
I gotta agree. It’s not really health insurance that they are looking for, as in insuring against an unforeseen medical situation, it is healthcare bills to go along with their disability payments.
Ain’t eugenics great? Bill gates would be proud.
pretty easy choice then for me since on a 50/50 ima 99% unlucky
