One More Reason to Dislike Him Now he's playing the race card big time.

In a wide-ranging interview with the New Yorker, President Obama characteristically saw fit to cast aspersions on those who disagree with him. Obama told David Remnick:

There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who really just dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President.

Now it’s true that Obama went on to say that there are many voters, both black and white, who give him the benefit of the doubt on account of his race. What this indicates is a man who sees everything in terms of race. Or put another way, Obama views the world in black and white.

As I write this, it is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. My dislike of President Obama isn’t a matter of the color of his skin, but rather because of the content of his character or lack thereof.

AD FEEDBACK

I dislike President Obama because of his petulance. What other President would tell the opposition party in his first meeting with them, “I won. I’m the president,”? What other President would intervene in a local matter and declare that its police department had “acted stupidly” while admitting he did not have all the facts? What other President would make the Dalai Lama leave the White House through a side entrance with a big pile of garbage awaiting him? What other President would tell the Prime Minister of Israel to let himself out of the White House? What other President would unceremoniously return a bust of Sir Winston Churchill to the British? What other President would while traveling abroad describe his country as “arrogant, derisive and dismissive?”

I’m glad he retreated to the race issue instead of accepting responsibility for his actions and policies; demonstrated for once and for all that he is a pathetic token of whom we are not allowed to expect any adult American behavior or intellect.

This is just another desperate attempt to get non-whites to get out and vote Dem in this years midterms, because they showed up in 2008 and 2012, but not in midterm 2010.

Everything Obama does and says this year is about this years election.

True, I'm sure there are some who dislike you simply because you're black. However, the other 99% who dislike you do so because you are RED.

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

Here is the Thank You letter Obama sent to his Hope & Change artist, Shepard Fairey:
"Dear Shepard, I would like to thank you for using your talent in support of my campaign. The political messages involved in your work have encouraged Americans to believe they can help change the status quo. Your images have a profound effect on people, whether seen in a gallery or on a stop sign. I am privileged to be a part of your artwork and proud to have your support. I wish you continued success and creativity.

Sincerely, Barack Obama.'"

Well, he can only play half a race card. He does have that white blood. He can deny it all he wants, but Mama was white and he is a half and half no matter what he says. He can stand in a garage and call himself a car, but that does not make him a car. So, standing there and calling himself all black does not make him all black. Of course, we all knew at some point this slime ball would play the race card. They all do when the going gets tough.

All the more reason for me to ignore both. I celebrate Robert E Lee’s birthday-it was his first-and then I ignore all the propaganda and lies of that month.

“He was just exploiting Martin Luther King Day and upcoming Black History Month.”

Probably, but those messages resonate with a diminishing number of people (and disgust an increasing number). MLK Day is just “Negro Victim Day” in terms of the media...

The thing is, he chooses to identify as black, and the black community in general claims him as their own, so all “credit” for whatever he says and does goes to them.

“Sadly, the race card is the only thing that this loser has left...”

The value of the race card is falling fast; the number of people who can remember blacks forced to sit in the back of the bus are fading due to attrition/aging, and younger white/brown/yellow/red people have only seen blacks handed everything on a silver platter their whole lives. High school diplomas, college degrees, jobs and promotions - all given to them for free to try to assimilate them...and we’re still dealing with whines of racism. The US had legal slavery for 80 years, and it ended 150 years ago; today’s non-blacks aren’t listening to this nonsense anymore. The two elections of Obama have put it to rest for non-blacks; now Obama is preaching to the choir with his race-baiting. Anyone who takes this seriously was never going to grow up and assimilate anyway...

What’s race have to do with it ...outside of Obama childishly using it as a weapon to get what he wants?

I know. Blacks love to do that. Toss the white blood and keep the black part. Use what you can to get what you want. I am simply sick of this race card crap. I worked with people from all walks of life in the military. I did see racial problems at times and they were handled quickly to keep the crap out of the service. I am simply sick of it. I knew blacks in the Army that were sick of it. Tired of being looped in with the lazies who played the card.
