Testimony heated up during the second day of a federal trial for the alleged mastermind behind a kidnapping on the UTPA campus.
Miguel Angel Navarro is accused of planning the kidnapping of 27-year-old Ana Elizondo from a parking lot.
Kidnapping victim Ana Elizondo was the first witness to take the stand on Wednesday morning.
Elizondo relived the horrifying experience after being kidnapped from a parking lot on the University of Texas Pan American campus in Edinburg.
She recalled how she saw one of her kidnappers praying ot the Santa Muerte, a cult figure followed by some criminals.
Her father Jorge Elizondo, Sr. also took the stand around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The Hidalgo County man also testified about the night of the kidnapping.
Elizondo said he received a phone call from a man around 7:20 p.m. about his daughter.
He stated during the testimony that the caller demanded $160,000 for "squares" of cocaine, but settled for $100,000 dollars.
During the testimony, Elizondo Sr. said he owns a grocery store in Reynosa after working for Pemex for 15 years as an internal accountant.
A Meskin broke into a home in NW Houston yesterday and raped a woman. The crime is moving out.
And by the way, lots of people in the neighborhood said they either have guns or are going to get one.
