Violence has been taboo in recent Ukrainian political upheavals, including the Orange Revolution. But last night's deaths amid clashes in Kiev may have changed that. ___ At least two people are dead, and hundreds injured, after Ukraine's long-running peaceful anti-government street demonstrations erupted in unprecedented violence this week, and the protest movement appeared to split irrevocably between moderates and revolution-bent radicals.
Ukrainian riot police reportedly began clearing away barricades in central Kiev Wednesday afternoon following a night of bloody clashes between police and a radical contingent of protesters near the country's parliament, which saw the first fatalities since the demonstrations began last November. One man was shot allegedly by police, though they deny using live ammunition another fell to his death after climbing a stadium wall, and a third was reported dead of a bullet wound in a Kiev hospital.

That’s really bad news. I was hoping no one would get killed.
What’s the time frame?
Is this before or after the monks stood between the protesters and police?

“Violence has been taboo in recent Ukrainian political upheavals”
This is the country that has routine brawls in its parliament. Last month, during the signing of a bill, people had to open umbrellas to defend from pelting eggs.
There is going to be a crackdown. The videos remind me of OWS.
Wait till Russia, responding to pleas for help from the “legitimate” government of Ukrainia, send in the tanks.
You ain’t seen nothin yet. Big violence is on the way.
This revolt is heading in a bad direction.
IMHO, bide time, work within, undermine the party, like a termite, eat it out from the bottom up. It’s the only sane way to go.
Why? Because Russia WILL intervene. Ukrainian nationalists WILL take it on the chin. A lot more good people will die.
This is a NO WIN situation. For now.
This would be a slow weekend in Chicago...
Soros is funding the protests. He and his minions want Ukraine to go EU
I hope your wrong. I wouldn’t bet against you though. There are some thoughts the Party of the Regions is behind the demonstrations so the government looks good.
Ukrainians must stand up to the genocidal mass-murderer and war criminal KGB Putin or he will dismember Ukraine like he did to Georgia. Putin must die and his fascist dictatorship must be smashed into a hundred pieces.
Western Ukraine wants to go with the West, Eastern Ukraine, dominated by the Russians imported there by Stalin way back when, wants to go with Mother Russia. George Soros has nothing to do with it.
Soros and his Open Society group is funding Ukrainian protests. They want Ukraine in EU. If they lean towards Russia the EU loses
Paranoia. Nothing in European press or in interviews with Ukrainians about Soros. Soros is not capable of inciting anything over there.
The protests have nothing to do with Soros and to claim otherwise demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of what is driving those opposing the current corrupt government. Ukraine is ruled by a convicted criminal who has now essentially sold Ukraine to Russia in exchange for a monetary payout. In the meantime, dictatorial legislation was just enacted by a vote that violated parliamentary procedures. Ukraine has had a long and heartbreaking experience with what happens when it falls under the thumb of Russia. Sadly, history may well now repeat itself.
Martial law may be the next step needed to take the country out of the abyss.
You can be certain Russia will not tolerate instability in a nation on its borders for long. It will have to take steps to seal itself off from turmoil in Ukraine.
And this could cripple Ukraine’s prospects of staying afloat. Ukrainians can go to Europe if they want but they should be under no illusions that Brussels will bail them out.
However present events in Kiev play out, one thing is for sure: the country is in for hard times ahead.
Oh, yeah?
USAID Support for Destabilization of Russia
This is the same playbook used in Serbia, Libya, Syria, Georgia, Eygpt, and a host of other countries that were on the Globalist's hit list.
“Ukraine has had a long and heartbreaking experience with what happens when it falls under the thumb of Russia.”
They also had an interesting experience under the thumb of Europe.
