What the hell has happened to the criminal justice system in America? This woman flies to New York City to appear on a nationwide television program and to convict and sentence on-air the ex-cop who shot her husband. And in another article her attorneys praise Westshore Pizza for coming up with thousands of dollars in donations for their client. Self serving SOB's. Guess who's getting most of that money? Plus the babe wife now gets her fifteen minutes of fame. If she was so damned concerned about her daughter she would be spending every minute with that child at home, not gallivanting around Manhattan appearing on freaking talk shows in glamorous attire and makeup. This tells me a lot about who these people really were/are. Not to speak ill of the dead but dollars to donuts hubby was a hothead "bad boy" type who mouthed off to anyone who came across as an authority figure. This is the kind of dude the wife got hooked on. Bah. So we can forget about the judge and the jury. We don't need them anymore. Right?

The bigger question is what was and is now her position on concealed carry (2nd amendment as a hole for that fact)?

The guy shot an un-armed man in a movie theater because he didn’t quit texting when told to. There is no justification for the shoot. NONE

Two thoughts:
Whatever happened to the idea to be resepectful of others. The guy could have gone to the theatre lobby to text.
What were these people doing leaving a 22 month old baby home alone with a young teenage sitter. I think people ought to wait until a child is out of baby stage and at least to pre school age before you leave them with a sitter unless the sitter is a family member
I guess I am old fashioned.
I am also tired of stories like this being driven by the media. The retired cop is 71. So if hes convicted of anything in this action it will be a life sentence.
Is this lady going to run around now like Trayvons mom and leach of whatever political action group is behind her?

"You make me so happy, Daddy so happy, Lexi, and she would say, Me happy, too, Daddy, Lexi happy, too." her daughter speaks in broken english? what child says "me happy too"
I am thinking hot-head guy, wife looking to cash-in, anti-gun lobby finds an attractive face they can parade around... Expect her to be the new anti0gun spokesman
Think very carefully about this- someone tells you to stop texting in a theatre- Do you say "OK, sorry I bothered you" and put it away, or do you scream at him and throw popcorn at him? There is more to this story

Not to speak ill of the dead but dollars to donuts hubby was a hothead "bad boy" type who mouthed off to anyone who came across as an authority figure. In the movie theater the shooter asked the hubby to stop texting at least twice.
He wouldn't stop.
An argument ensued.
The hubby threw a container of popcorn in the shooter's face.
The shooter pulled his gun and that ended the texting.
Not saying the shooting was right or justified - that will be the job of the jury.
But there are some things a prudent person can do to avoid escalating a potentially dangerous confrontation and making it worse or even deadly.

This wasn’t exactly a cool move on the part of the widow, but this retired cop was a real pr**k and deserves the full weight of law comin’ down on him.

Oh, what, so you are elevating the widow to the status of a national spokesperson and we’re now going to get some RINO in Congress to sponsor “Oulson’s Law”? Your mindset is exactly what I’m complaining about, and it’s so automatic you scare me.

I think a 2 year old is ok with a sitter for a couple hours. They are speaking, walking, and maybe potty trained.

You cant shoot and kill someone for throwing popcorn on you.No, actually, to be precise, you CAN shoot and kill someone for throwing popcorn on you.
However -- and rightfully! -- you will face life in prison, or a death sentence, for such fatal foolishness.

"There is more to this story"
There is. This wasn't the first time the shooter had badgered someone for texting in a theater. He was looking for a confrontation and ended up murdering someone. He deserves life. At 71 any sentence of 20 years or more would essentially be a life sentence. And that's a good thing.
