If I were him, I would sue the Federal government for violate his civil rights and racism, they have singled him out for a hate crime while all others committing the same crime are not charged equally because of their color/race.
Not a bad idea.
He and others who have been charged with crimes should sue local, state and federal government on the basis that they can point to others who have committed the same crime and were not prosecuted.
