The latest jobs report has been released showing 36,000 jobs were lost in New Jersey and the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Harold Wirths told NJTV News Managing Editor Mike Schneider that the preliminary numbers are unbelievable. The good news for New Jersey is that the unemployment rate fell from 9.5 percent to 7.3 percent, which is the second largest drop in history, Wirths said. He said that the 36,000 jobs lost is a statistical anomaly that happened in December.

2.2 point drop when you lose 36,000 jobs. How many lost jobs will bring us to 5% unemployment. /s

These numbers make a lot of sense to me. On a state level these numbers aren't necessarily anomalies at all.

New Jersey isn't filled with unemployed people. It's filled with empty office and commercial buildings whose occupants were companies that took their jobs -- and many of their employees -- from New Jersey to other states. It's also filled with suburban homes whose owners have retired and moved to other states to escape this state's onerous taxes.

Beware.

The same Stalinist tactics being employed against this RINO are also being used against solid conservatives like Dinesh D’Souza, that guy from Virginia, and others.

We have a criminal in the White House surrounded by Chicago type thugs who are using the mechanics of government to destroy political opponents in a manner unrivaled since the Soviet Union.

They lost some but, the unemployment rate improved drastically for the same period?

This is nothing; here in NJ pharmaceutical companies have already announced their intentions to lat off even more. Between that and the financial sector losses, there isn’t a whole lot left; the public employees are feeling the bite as property tax caps limit how much they can rob from us - they’ve had layoffs as well.

Opening the gates to the illegals isn’t helping at all; it is just temporarily preserving some of those public sector jobs, while swelling the underground economy here.

He doesn’t understand why unemployment numbers could drop, yet be losing so many jobs at the same time

The problem with government statistics is that they don’t count unemployed ppl more than several years as part of the unemployment rate. If you’re not working after several years, then it must mean you don’t want work, so you don’t get count as unemployed, even though you’re not working

Any “jobs report” from any governmental agency, branch or entity is pure propaganda.

There is no way in hell to determine how many people are actually unemployed. Their figures are based upon how many NEW unemployment claims are filed during a specific period....not a count of all who are unemployed.

NEVER BELIEVE ANY GOVERNMENT STATISTIC.....PERIOD!
