Newspaper chain plans 'state-by-state' concealed weapon databases
foxnews ^ | 01/24/14 | Joshua Rhett Miller

A national newspaper chain with nearly 100 publications and 1.6 million readers is considering building “state-by-state databases” on concealed weapons permit holders, according to an internal e-mail.

The plan, laid out in an email from a top editor at North Carolina-based Civitas Media, could be similar to a controversial project a New York state newspaper carried out in 2012 which included an online map that identified gun owners in two counties by name and address. Civitas' database project was detailed the plan in a Jan. 19 e-mail to newsrooms in 11 states, including Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

The newest project "examines the explosion of ‘conceal and carry’ gun permits across the U.S.,” wrote Jim Lawitz, Civitas’ director of content, in an e-mail first obtained by the Buckeye Firearms Association. “Through public records act requests, we will attempt to build state-by-state databases that list those who have the right to carry a concealed weapon.”

That’s going to be a big database. Including some big names, with plenty of juice behind them. They have no idea. Go ahead, boys. Stir that hornets nest. See where it gets you.

“Through public records act requests, we will attempt to build state-by-state databases that list those who have the right to carry a concealed weapon.”

Since the liberal left wants to put a target on gun owners who legally exercise their 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights, I say this:

Let's start a database using public records act requests and FOIA requests to build a state by state database of those who do NOT have a conceal/carry permit or FOID card.

Let's put the target right back where it belongs: on the anti-gun weenies who eschew guns and the protection they afford. Let's see how they respond to being murdered, raped, pillaged, and plundered along with their families.

Who's with me? I have database skills, a website, and I know someone who's a very good Web Site designer. We can put this thing together in a matter of days and the first members of the Database will be the assholes who own these newspapers!

Other than the obvious invasion of privacy, how is this a bad thing? I realize they think they are embarrassing us or that people will be angry at us, but won’t this tell criminals to stay the hell away from us? I’m not a criminal but if this list was posted openly, I would definitely check it out to see who I WANTED to rob vs who I did not want to approach.

A quick Linked-In Search turned up 1,702 people who worked/work for Civitas Media.

They along with their home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and family members that I can find will be the first members of our new Database that identifies those who hate guns and want to take ours away.

Let's see how they like the target on THEIR backs for a change.

Ok I see that could happen, but again, we would be more likely to kill them if they tried since they don't know positively if anyone is at home.

I want a campaign started urging the gun haters to prove their loyalty to their cause by posting signs in their yards and on their cars stating they don't believe in owning guns! Think any of them are stupid enough to advertise to the world that they are sitting ducks?

And we’ll dig and find the names and addresses of the cretins doing this, and we’ll publish their information as well, along with the fact that they’re unarmed.

We can start our own web site of Communist Journalists.

That is going to require some memory. That is a big file.

OK, how about a data base of all those who do not have weapons, who work for the newspaper chain? My guess is they would not like that very much.
