House Speaker John Boehner says in his job, he has to be many things, from a father figure to the Gestapo.
People think, all right, youre the speaker, youre the leader, Boehner told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show on Thursday night. They dont realize Ive got a lot of other roles that I play. You know, some members, I have to be the big brother figure. Some I have to be the father figure. Others I have to be the dean of students or the principal. Some of them I have to be the Gestapo.
The Ohio Republican, who grew up in a family with 11 siblings and a father that owned a bar, said he learned the skills he needs in Congress at a young age, including dealing with unsavory characters.
I grew up in a big family. You have to learn to get along with each other
get things done as a a family, Boehner said. When you grow up at a bar I mopped floors, did dishes, waited tables, tended bar. And you have to learn to deal with every jacks that walks in the door. Trust me, I need all the skills I learned growing up to do my job.

Too bad he’s completely useless.
His favorite roles are traitor and jackass.
Distant, disconnected trivia from a lying, colluding, weasel appeasing RINO traitor. His origin is not the problem; his current entrenchment in the lap of accepted second-tier power appeasing is. A damned traitor to America.
I have heard him talking about mopping that floor about 10,000 times. Get over it. Mopping the floor isn’t that bad.
Let me guess. The Tea Party members are the jack--s he's referring to. I guess you also have to deal with mobsters like Obama and Reid with a smile and try not to let them see that you've wet yourself.
He looked pathetic on Leno last night. “Our guy” is a pasty wishy-washy inside-the-beltway career politician playing softball with a fledgling junta.
"Elected to Congress in 1990, John quickly became a voice for reform. First, he adopted a "no earmarks" policy that he carries with him to this day. And as part of the "Gang of Seven," he and fellow lawmakers took on the House establishment Democrats and Republicans. Together, they successfully closed the scandal-riddled House Bank, uncovered "dine-and-dash" practices at the House Restaurant, and exposed drug sales and cozy cash-for-stamps deals at the House Post Office.
Not so much now.... In 1994, John was instrumental in crafting the landmark Contract with America. One of the Contract's cornerstones - the Congressional Accountability Act, which required lawmakers to live under the same rules and regulations as the rest of the nation bears the unmistakable print of his drive to change the way Congress works."
maybe he’s GAY-stapo
He gives himself far too much credit and dignity. He and his kind are groveling kapos.
If he wasn’t already a widely know ‘tard, this might have had some negative impact on him...
What skills were those? Learning to be stupid and then corrupt.
I was doing something else in another room when I heard the sound of stupidity coming from the TV. I ran in to look and I wasn’t disappointed.
sometimes he is x and sometimes he is y
but he is a great disappointment, and totally useless, all of the time
alas (I liked him, too...but he’s just a rubber stamp for the Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Soros/communist machine)
I have to promise my constituency that I'll stop funding of NPR, stop funding for Planned Predators, and promise to totally stop funding and repeal Obambicare . . . as I did in the last election, and then I have to shove it right up my constituencies' arses, lie to them, and then do nothing. Yep, I gotta' do that . . . and then keep a straight face!" Ain't easy to do that without crying, ya' know.
“Some of them I have to be the Gestapo.
No you moron the duly elected representatives are all thinking adults sent by their states to represent their constituents in Washington. They are not there to bend to your insane ideas.
He’s alot more like Benedict Arnold than the Gestapo.
Wonderful choice of words from a “Speaker”.
Lets think about for one seconf. I was born in 88 and my sister was born in 1990.
Bonehead has been in office for OUR ENTIRE LIVES!!
I don’t even want to think how long some congressial aides have been in power.
Aha! That’s where he needs to be! Working in a family bar!
