Chuck Schumer Pushes Plan To Wipe Out Tea Party Calls for nonpartisan ‘blanket’ primaries

By Jacqueline Klimas January 23, 2014

"Do what a handful of states have done and have a primary where all voters, members of every party, can vote and the top two vote-getters, regardless of party, then enter a runoff," Sen. Charles E. Schumer suggests in his scheme to weaken the tea party. (Associated Press)

Democrats should push for more open primaries as a way of weakening the tea party movement, Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, said Thursday, laying out a plan to try to isolate the grass-roots conservative movement that has emerged as a key hurdle to President Obama’s agenda over the past three years.

Mr. Schumer said moving to a nonpartisan “blanket” primary — in which all candidates compete and the top finishers advance regardless of party affiliation — would force right-wing candidates to appeal to centrist voters, which he said would push out the most extreme candidates.

Such a system is in place in California, Louisiana and Washington state.

Mr. Schumer said the tea party movement is being controlled by a few wealthy donors whose limited-government philosophy does not reflect the ideas of millions of voters who identify as tea party supporters

Well, I wouldn't want that, but then again, I wouldn't want to weaken the TEA party! It's a safe bet that there isn't anything that "Chuckie Cheese" Schumer might advise that could possibly be good for Republicans.

If the only difference between Republicans and Democrats is that the Republicans offer to give voters less free stuff -- the Republicans will lose every time.

Rush suggested that the TEA party scares the willies out of the Democrats. I'd agree.

So Chuckie prefers the type of “democracy” practiced in Detroit and North Korea to AMERICAN Democracy.

Why am I NOT surprised?

Why don’t we call him on that?

People need to remember that Schumer single-handedly hijacked the Waco-Branch Davidian hearing to deflect criticism from the ATF for the kills of dozens of women and children in a heavy-handed brutal attack by Clinton's ATF.

His foolish drooling and slobbering will only make the TEA Party stronger.

“He drinks a cider drink He sings the songs that remind him ...
Next door neighbor I get knocked down But I get up again you’re never going to keep me down”

Maybe we should change the name of the TEA Party to the Antaeus Patriots?

And here I thought that debate was good. That the marketplace of ideas had room for everyone to have a voice. What was that quote? - 'I may not agree with what you say, but I defend to the death your right to say it'. Schumer says 'Death to those who oppose big government'.
I would never oppose an advocate of communism to get up and espouse his ideas. People have a right to be wrong. The Andrew Cuomos, the Barack Obamas, the Chucky Schumers - they want to silence those who disagree with them. Aren't there reasonable Democrats who are able to see this?

The Tea Party isn’t going to just Vanish away—they have moved underground—Just because we have been dormant—doesn’t mean we have gone anyplace. We will come out as the government starts to falter and sink. Watch, we will be back with a new vitality that will find itself manifest in many ways.

I always said—a Good Old Blue Dog Democrat Conservative is better than a RINO Republicans who talks Conservative but Votes Progressive. Look to see the rise of an Ultra Leftist Democrat Movement —as well as the Democrat Tea Party!

I think thats a great idea Chuck. Two things:

1. All voter rolls are purged and everyone re- registers.
2. National elections are done by county instead of state. Whoever wins most counties in state win the state.

On one hand, they - personified by Schumer - must be really scared if they are openly floating plans to destroy the Tea Party. When you threaten power, power fights back.

On the other hand, here we have a sitting US senator advocating suppressing political speech, and laying his plan for doing so.

Is there any doubt these people are fascists?

Chuducky needs to get out of urbanville into rural America where his little plan would go teats up. In fact, we might end up with more conservatives than we have now. Let all of the communist parties split up between the Democrats, the greens, the commies and whatever other slimy, leftist garbage comes along, and let Republicans split between GOPe and the Tea Party and Libertarians who are fed up with nanny fed.

Didn’t Harry Reid boast that the Tea Party was dead? There sure is a lot of hysteria over a non threat.
