House GOP Sets New Push to Overhaul Immigration
Wall Street Journal ^ | 1/24/14 | LAURA MECKLER

An effort by House lawmakers to overhaul immigration policy, which seemed all but dead for much of last year, is about to be revived and take center stage in Congress, with a new push by House Republican leaders and a fresh pitch by President Barack Obama in his State of the Union address Tuesday.

House GOP leaders are expected to release broad principles to guide the chamber's immigration debate as soon as the coming week. They will include a call to grant legal status to millions of people now in the country illegally, people familiar with the plans say, a step that many in the GOP oppose as a reward for people who broke U.S. law.

Behind the scenes, Republican lawmakers already are writing detailed legislation, with the encouragement of House GOP leaders, that would also offer the chance at citizenship for many here illegally

WSJ is a huge supporter of Amnesty. I’m sure Laura was giddy writing this article.

Well, I guess it's game-over for the US. In very short order, all guns banned; the economy collapses; communism takes its place.

2014 will be a pure bloodbath for the Republican side of the Uniparty.

And then it's just a matter of the final death rattles.

Ah. Thank you. My post above, was based on the mistaken belief that the WSJ was a better news source. There is a great chance this is mere attempts at trend-creation. Propaganda.

This time it is much different. Legalization of the 30 to 50 million illegals, NOW, will tip all elections into the Democrat branch of the Uniparty, and all the wildest Pelosi schemes will be law within 2 years time.

If they do this they will lose the House. Maybe Boehner thinks he is going to lose anyway so might as well take everyone else down with him.

Our Congressman, Pete Olson, is running unopposed so you cannot threaten him with voting against him. It doesn’t matter as he will win anyway. He and the majority of Texas Reps voted for the budget so they obviously doesn’t care about the people in Texas. We will be totally overrun if anything dealing with amnesty passes. I just simply do not understand it.

They must be suicidal. They would do well to remember that this is an election year and the voting public is hurting financially. We need jobs and full time employment, not more cheap labor undercutting the job market and sucking up what little remains of social services we paid for.

The Wall Street Journal has been in favor of open borders since at least 1984. I mean absolutely zero borders, erased.

Dude, they are totally in bed with the Chamber of Commerce and other GOP big-time business donors pushing Amnesty. The attacks they did against Obamacare and other liberal policies were just crumbs to their subscribers. I’ve given them all the respect of MSNBC.

Certainly Boehner got cashed in. Makes me wonder if he knows something, like, there won't BE an America in a few short years.

Might-as-well-cash-in mindset.

I just love conservative myopia. The only way the Founders had of controlling their destiny was by electing pro-colonist Tories in England.

Oops, it didn’t work that way. Instead, the colonists established Committees of Safety throughout the colony and kicked England’s ass.

The Founders left us a roadmap to kick the ass of tyrants. Well, that’s probably too much work. It’s much more easy to welcome the jackboot of tyranny on your neck.

We need to give the GOP to the Chamber who are now run by Bloomberg, Bill Gates and all those Faux republicans.

We should take the Tea Party grass roots, the remnants of the social conservatives and Libertarians and form a Conservative party with candidates that can talk like Cruz, Root, Paul, and plan to win in 8 years from now.

The GOPe is going to lose in 2016, and our guys will continue to do well in debates that fracture the conservative vote with 6 candidates to the GOPe 1 candidate.

If we want a chance before forming our own Conservative or Freedom party, we need to have conservative only debate series and convention to pick ONLY ONE conservative to take on the GOPe in the real primaries. A divided conservative vote only gets you the likes of Christie, Romney, and McCain.

Also, never again have the likes of Candy Crowley, and all those other liberals pretending to be fair.

For the conservative debates lets have Lindbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Beck.

Ah, but you are wrong. They vigorously enforce laws pertaining to legal immigrants, especially any that involve large fees for processing paperwork to immigrate legally.

(Ok, I do understand what you meant.)

I sure hope it doesn’t “get far”. Actually, I don’t want to see it even start. The idiotic but devious Boehner and the despicable Eric Cantor shouldn’t even allow it “out of the gate”—but they probably will.

The GOP is beyond stupid. Bush did the same crap prior to the 2006 election. It only suppresses vote turnout from the 'right'.

Politic-ans don't care about the commons. They only care about the interest that give to them.

Importing more worker and legalizing criminals does not help US in any form.
