My oldest daughter, who was a Ron Paul supporter, gave me a Rand Paul for prez bumper sticker. She’s getting started early. I have it on my shelf, won’t put it on just yet, if ever. Not that I don’t like him or think he wouldn’t make a great prez. Just too early.

you know F/pat; it really sounds like they're trying to humor you and are going wash their
hands of you and pass their very silly local ordnance, even if your arguments are sound
...it has never been about the noise ordinance; they're petty (tiny-minded) bureaucrats,
they seek power over the citizenry, in every conceivable way...
still i hope your efforts/logic are successful. *smile*

At the end of the day the ONLY war being waged on women is being done by the Democrats.

When you look at how they beat down and slander any successful woman who is NOT a mouth breathing Liberal...then you understand that Dems crying about a war on women is simply projection.

I agree with you. The GOP will lose if we repeat past tendency of nominating Republicans from the left. Neither Christie nor Jeb Bush will excite the GOP base nor attract conservative Libertarians or independents.

Pence is interesting to me. From my memory he was good in congress and now he has executive experience running a state. He does not have the one thing Christie or Bush has, name recognition, but that can be overcome if enough conservatives get behind him or whoever we nominate.

Agreed. My point is that minority women skew the data when it comes to political preferences. When you have black women voting 96% to 3% for Obama, does this reflect a women’s perspective or a black perspective. Obama got the women’s vote, but the percentages are misleading.

How’s the FED’s QE Stimulus of $85 billion a month doing for creating jobs?

How about that Democrat Tax Increase on those making more than $400k?

I think it reflects the black perspective. I think supporting more people like Mia Love will go a long way towards helping change that.

How many times can Shieffer mention ‘shutdown’ during the Cruz interview?

Cruz doesn’t take the bait, but responds with the Prez’s lies about keeping your doctor and keeping your health plan.

Cruz does tell Shieffer that it was Obama and Reid who threatened the shutdown, when Shieffer continues to confront Cruz as being the one who shut down the government.

Shieffer asks whether Christie is still a viable presidenial candidate, and whether Cruz will run.

Cruz says he is representing the people of Texas.

Shieffer cuts him off with a thank you.

There is also a rumor flying around that Feb 1 the banks are shutting going to collapse. They don’t seem to be loaning money for mortgages right now and Dodd/Frank has turned things into a maze.

Welcome to Obamanomics.

Re the SOTU: I suspect it’s going to be the least watched one EVAH! I usually have it on in the background, but don’t really listen - - just follow along on the FR thread.

He’s going to talk about the “income inequality” - - though I heard on Fox and Friends this a.m. that after using that term for the last few + months (they did a montage of him saying it in various speeches), he will be using “Ladder of Opportunity” - one of them said (may have been Tucker Carlson) that it must have focus group tested better.

Wonder how many times he’ll say “I’m focussed like a laser” and “fair share”. Perhpas he’ll tell the far-right to get out of DC, following in Cuomo and DeBlasio’s footsteps in NY.

Rep. Kathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) will be giving the Republican response and Sen Mike Lee (R-UT) will be giving the Tea Party response - - I definitely want to hear him - think he’s great!

Given Chuckie Schmuckie’s rant against the Tea Party this week and calls for more investigation by the IRS and Obummer’s comments in the NY Rag about FNC & Rush, I think all of the Tea Party types in congress should invite as many right-leaning and conservative talk show hosts and FNC personnel as the can- -love to watch the libs heads explode ;-).

Hannity is going to attend the SOTU with Rep Louie Gohmert (love that Texan!). Wish Levin or Palin would attend with Cruz and/or Lee. Maybe Rush could go as a guest of Cruz or Paul.

Side bar re Subway - for that type of fare there’s always Quizno’s and Jersey Mike’s (I like them - - not sure how many states or locations they have).

I doubt it. Once a black becomes a Rep, he or she is no longer black. The become "Oreos" like Michael Steele, Ken Blackwell, Tim Scott, Allan West, etc. Group think and peer pressure are very strong influences.
