President Ronald Reagan once said, Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face. Well, if Reagan was right, Chattanooga, Tennessee, will be solving their problems a little better than all the other cities across the nation.
After interviewing more than 46,000 adults nationwide over a seven-year period, the American Bible Society, in conjunction with Barna, ranks Chattanooga as the number one most Bible-minded city in the United States. Providence, Rhode Island, and New Bedford, Massachusetts, share the dubious distinction of being the least most-Bible minded cities in America.
Bible-mindedness was calculated based on combined levels of regular Bible reading and residents belief in the Bibles accuracy. Barna identifies "Bible-minded" people as "respondents who report reading the bible within the past seven days and who agree strongly in the accuracy of the Bible."
Along with ranking the most and least Bible-minded cities, the ABS study discovered an inverse relationship between population size and Bible friendliness. The survey showed that of top 25 Bible-minded markets, only three have a population greater than 1 million households: Charlotte, NC; Nashville, TN; and Dallas, TX. Moreover, according to analysis by Christianity Today, most "Bible-minded" cities host sizable Christian colleges.

SF only number 4? I guess the LDS population tones down the “Secular Progressives” that infest the area to some extent.
Who keeps asking those questions on which state is most or least religious? There seems to be a new spin on this topic every two weeks, and a new survey to promote the spin. Expressed religiousity or degree of faith doesn’t always tell the whole story. Some have: never spoken aloud about their faith or lack thereof. This is how they were raised, keeping their love of The Lord as a private matter, nothing that needs defending.
Providence, Rhode Island is a leftist shit-hole on any survey. Once a great city with a good university, Brown, it has now become the craphole of leftist thinking and Brown is a disgrace, just as Brandeis has become.
Short of another “perfect storm” and “Sandy Hook storm” combined, they will remain that way.
I have relatives there and they are so far left (in a polite way), that they don’t know WTF is going on in the real world (and one is a professor, now retired).
Add to this mix Bridgeport, Rh. Island, Burlington, Vt. and possibly Bangor, Maine. Massachusetts can be Neutron-bombed at Cambridge and Boston, (i.e. the Red Triangle). I understand that some of the western part of the state is still loyal to the U.S. as rumored have it.
IT was the Bible that brought the Pilgrims and other refugees from British tyranny to our shores. Now it is Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, and The Thoughts of Chairman Obama that are read and worshipped.
Now you know what is wrong with the Democratic parts of the US.
Notice how these cities divide along the Old Surveyor’s Line.
I do not associate with liberals. If I find out someone is a liberal, I have I nothing to do with them. I was fortunate to have finally left California, but I have liberal cousins in California. I am true to my word. I do not have anything to do with them. It is too bad, but they live in Obamanation. I will not be a party to it.
Nana’s corner of the country...
Yeppers we’uns read the Bible here...
I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
What’s the LDS the Mormons got to do with the Christian Bible ???
Mormons are not Christians and their founder, Joseph Smith dismissed the Bible as not valid..
He replaced it with his Book of Mormon which he claimed superior to the Bible..
Joseph Smith said ..
“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on the earth ... “ (History of the Church, Vol. 4, page 461)
Maybe Joseph Smith dismissed the Christian Bible, but most of the LDS people I know here in the Bay Area do read the Bible and can quote scripture chapter and verse with the best of them.
But then again, I’m an “MOT”, so I don’t count either, right?
They can quote certain verses by chapter, but only the ones they think are translated correctly. Mormons don't put much faith in the Bible at all - that is why they need the Book of Mormon....the most perfect book.....GAG!!!
...And that is why Salt Lake City is so low in this poll.
SLC is #87
Just 2 notches above NYC
