EXCLUSIVE: Politico Tries to Manipulate Hannity Comment on Michael Savage
Breitbart ^ | 1/26/14 | Breitbart News

Posted on 01/26/2014 10:50:59 PM PST by Nachum

On Friday, Politico was set to release a puff piece on Michael Savage, the polarizing host tapped by Cumulus to replace iconic talker Sean Hannity on its affiliates. In the process of putting together that puff piece, Politico contacted Hannity for comment. After attempting to manipulate Hannity’s comments repeatedly, Hannity withdrew them. Now, they appear exclusively at Breitbart News.

Hannity has moved to Premiere Radio Networks, a division of Clear Channel, shifting stations in many markets. As reported by Breitbart News last year, Hannity parted ways with Cumulus last year to move to Premiere, retaining his major markets and reportedly ripping the Dickeys as “the single worst operators in the history of radio.” The Dickey brothers, who own Cumulus, had criticized Rush Limbaugh, among others, stating that they were too controversial. Hiring Savage is unlikely to quell controversy, given Savage’s history of boycotts: he was thrown off of MSNBC after suggesting a caller was a “sodomite” who should “get AIDS and die”; he was boycotted after suggesting that autism was overdiagnosed and that a child with autism was “a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out.”

Savage has long targeted Hannity, deriding him despite trailing significantly in audience and following; as of January 2014, according to Talkers magazine, Hannity was the second-rated host in the country, with 13.25+ million listeners per week. Savage trails far behind at 3.50 million. Savage’s jealousy for Hannity is well-known in the industry. In late December, Savage said that Hannity “works from Republican Party talking points. He says he doesn’t any more, but he does. I don’t. You can’t drone on about the Bill of Rights.”

I don’t think it helps Hannity. Especially if he has more listeners.

At least Hannity didn’t give the maximum political donation to democrat Jerry Brown.

>> I don’t think it helps Hannity.

It’s not in his nature. Plus, Savage is a better street fighter. It’s one thing for Levin to attack Savage, but not Hannity. There’s no reason for it.

I very familiar with all three radio voices.

Years ago I liked Savage, but he turned into a broken record, over and over again..

Maybe he has changed?

It looks to me like the leftists are doing everything they can to derail Savage, who is not afraid of telling the truth. The evidence is the lack of context in attacking Mike Savage.

Savage is the best conservative talk show host in the world. The pure and unrelenting hate on the left is a testament to that claim.

Hannity is a smart businessman, and he seems to be pretty lucky, too.

IMHO..of the three, Mark Levin (TGO) does very fine job / always an US Constitutional/
Bill of Rights advocate workhorse...should get a very large pay raise.
Sean H. too much of a screamer, much softer, not as intelligence as ML..(work, in progress).
John Wiener (Doc Savage) is too egotistical, irrational most of time & basically a nut-job.

Savage jumped the shark when he supported Trayvon Martin and called for the conviction of George Zimmerman. That is Black KKK Racist and not excusable

Both Hannity and Savage are too PhonyCon for me....but Hannity has a much larger audience...and you never dump a show to replace it with 10 million fewer listeners

John Wiener (Doc Savage)

Those are not his names. Wiener is the name he was born with, but John and Doc? The man's first name is Michael, to the best of my knowledge.

Oh, the “Doc” you refer to may be his title as having a Phd.

I question your definition of "best" and "conservative."

You must not listen to Savage very much. Other conservative talk show hosts are sissies compared to Savage in terms of subject matter, range of interesting discourse (from dogs to food and recipes, political analysis, Biblical references, and awesome insight into the soul of people).

Other talk show hosts are somewhat predictable, self-centered, and do not have the intellect and range of general knowledge about history and its relationship to today's events, socio-political context, support for the Catholic Church, support for our military, and ability to convey scientific understanding.

For example other conservative talk show hosts will not or cannot address the vicious unfairness of Savage's ban from Britain.

I must admit that I get bored with Rush sometimes, been listening to him since 1988. There is no contest between the intellects of other conservative talk show hosts and Savage. Savage towers over all of them!

Have you ever listened to Savage? He is a leftist. Gees, and seems to be a deranged one at that. I'm not a Hannity fan, never have been, but this move had to be initiated by Hannity. Nobody in there right mind would replace him with Savage, unless they felt they had no options.

Whenever I happen upon him on the radio (not much), he is the same old AOE.
