I’ve got a place like this right down the street. Grocery Outlet.... http://www.groceryoutlet.com/Oakland-CA/
They are great. Canned veggies for 49 to 69 cents. Usually just days past the sell-by date.
And they sell fresh stuff as well...bread and the such.
You just have to pay attention to what you’re buying.
What I love most about them is that they carry a lot of unusual products....turnip greens, collards etc...
I remember going to the bread store (Wholesome outlet) with my granny so she could load up on day old bread. She took it home and stuck it in the freezer.
Turnip greens and collards are unusual?

Canned goods are ok to eat for upwords of 25 years. Frozen items keep forever. Survival food is a SCAM.
Canned food over a hundred years old was found in a shipwreck and was without bacteria.
My man. One of the great Christmas presents I have given was some Webvan grocery bins. They just showed up at Grocery Outlet one fine day after Webvan’s bankruptcy. I have probably a dozen of them up in the attic with seasonal clothing.
