Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus suggested former President Bill Clinton was not entirely culpable for his affair with Monica Lewinsky Monday on MSNBC.
The comment came in the context of a discussion about Sen. Rand Paul’s (R., Ky.) comments yesterday where he accused President Clinton of “predatory behavior” toward his former White House intern. Marcus said Republicans seem to address female sexuality only in the contexts of victimization or promiscuity.
To evidence her point, Marcus added she did not believe Monica Lewinsky was an entirely “innocent victim” in the scandal. “I recall some thong flashing there,” she said.

Conclusion: Clinton’s a slave to his animal instincts, unable to control himself and can’t be blamed for responding automatically to a flashed thong by humping the lust object.

The issue is not the "affair" - who cares ? I'd cheat on her Thighness too. The impeachable offense was lying many times to the Grand Jury!

The issue is that Lewinski was a young subordinate and that Clinton should have had the manliness to exercise self control and avoid her.
So, Ruth, if a woman comes on to a policeman and he has sex with her, is that okay because she was kinda asking for it? How about a teacher with an 18 year old student? Is that okay because maybe the student was kinda asking for it.
Can you imagine them forgiving Bush for molesting an intern if she ‘flashed a thong’
We let the msm destroy Todd Aiken because a comment. And no matter badly and how often Clinton abuses women he gets a pass.
Of course Monica was asking for it. That’s entirely beside the point. The issue was the extreme “power imbalance”. If Clinton had been (say) a community college instructor, and Lewinsky a student; he would have lost his job (and might even face criminal charges). It’s all about the “power imbalance” — making it a form of white-collar rape. Meanwhile, Clinton was the most powerful man in the world, and Lewinsky was an unpaid intern. There could not possibly be a greater power difference; and the onus was on Clinton to avoid improprieties — no matter what Lewinsky was “asking for”.

it was the liberals who wrote sexual harassment laws whereby female subordinates cannot consent to sexual contact with male superiors due to the power relationship, so whether monica was willing or not, she was the victim.
If any liberal was caught molesting a todler on the capital steps the media would blame the kid. Anything to protect their allies. If a conservative was found with picture of their 3 YO child in the bathtub the media would scream child abuse.

All that "power imbalance" stuff only kicks in when it's someone the Left doesn't happen to like that's in the crosshairs.
Whereas a progressives is kind, sensitive, and giving, and any woman would welcome his touch.
