Officials in Stratton, Ohio, were forced to remove crosses that stood for decades on the villages municipal building after receiving threatening letters from an atheist activist group.
While some local leaders are frustrated by the decision to take the Christian symbols down, the crosses could end up more visible than ever once they are placed in their new locations.

Well, that’s one solution. Another would be to not cave in.

Put new ones up in a different location. If the response to these attacks were to put 10 up somewhere else, every-time that one came down, the atheists would go bankrupt.
Just got a letter? Send it back and ask for clarification. Repeat until they are forced to file a case. Make them prepare for the court case. The day before, drop the case and erect 10 different items that will make them want to explode.

Why isn’t threatening a lawsuit extortion?

Christians have as much right to declare their religious beliefs as those bastards have to declare their damnation.
This is NOT what the First Amendment and Jefferson's wall of separation meant AT ALL.
Its PAST TIME to take these bastards to account in the Courts, legislatures, and in demonstrations.
This is TYRANNY of the minority.
Any IDIOT who spends ANY time WHATSOEVER reading about American culture can't HELP but conclude that America's Founders based their beliefs on Judaeo-Christian morality, ethics and principles and were not shy about including those beliefs in every facet of public and private life.

Time for people to stand up, instead of caving.
Lawsuits cost money...for BOTH sides.
Instead of just caving, force the godless to pony up.

Why isnt threatening a lawsuit extortion? To you and me it is, but lawyers think litigation is just swell. How many times have you seen a poster say, "Well, they'll never be found guilty!" Maybe not, but they'll be impoverished along the way having to prove their case, guilty or not. George Zimmerman is an example...he was acquitted, but he's pretty deep in the hole.

Threats?
What are they going to do — call on God to strike down those Ohio Officials?

At the very least, the names of the few “angry atheists” should be published.
Then, the neighbors of those few “angry atheists” would be empowered to report any other insane behavior, which the neighbors may observe, to “the authorities”.
