Simple Messages about the Folly of Gun Control ^ | January 28, 2014 | Daniel J. Mitchell

Posted on 01/28/2014 7:02:53 AM PST by Kaslin

Let’s start this post with some cheerful news.

The statists face a huge uphill battle if their campaign to undermine our rights to keep and bear arms. If you want evidence, just look at last year’s special election defeats of two anti-Second Amendment politicians in Colorado (followed by the resignation of another state senator who feared a recall). Or remind yourself about the utter failure of President Obama’s cynical attempt to get more gun control by exploiting the murder of children in Newtown, Connecticut.

And check out these two maps to see how we’re making progress at the state level.

But this doesn’t mean we can relax our vigil. Showing contempt for America’s separation-of-powers system, the President repeatedly has asserted that he has the power to unilaterally change government policy. And just as he arbitrarily rewrites Obamacare, he claims he can impose more gun control.

But that only allows him to nudge policy in the wrong direction since the courts have been reasonably helpful on the Second Amendment in recent years.

Moreover, the real constraint on the statists is the wonderful fact that the American people would respond with massive civil disobedience if politicians ever tried to take our guns. Heck, even some very admirable government officials already are engaging in civil disobedience.

So let’s maintain our momentum by doing everything we can to educate others about the folly of gun control. Here are a handful of images that help make the case for the the Second Amendment.

Though I fear our left-wing friends will misinterpret this one and demand to regulate box cutters (just as some left-wing Brits have advocated knife control).

Here’s one that reminds me that teachers in places such as Israel and Texashave the right to be armed.

Gun Control Jan 2014 1

Though I wonder whether that would be comfortable. Perhaps this Alabama woman has a better idea.

Here’s an image with the same message found at the top of this post and at the bottom of this post. (and if you want to see a t-shirt that shows the left’s “morally superior” approach, click here).

Gun Control Jan 2014 3

Needless to say, my daughter has been raised with the right understanding of this issue.

Here’s a poignant reminder that gun control often is a tool of totalitarian regimes.

Gun Control Jan 2014 4

Which is why I’ve always thought this poster is the most powerful argument against gun control.

Last but not least, here’s a reminder that bad people don’t like private gun ownership.

Gun Control Jan 2014 5

Sort of the same message I had in my IQ test for criminals and liberals. In simpler terms, would you go looting in the neighborhood pictured at the end of this post?

Let’s close this post with links to a couple of articles that also are worth sharing. If you have left-wing friends, there are two posts that may convince them to be rational about guns. Justin Cronin explains here that restrictions on gun ownership undermined his ability to protect his family. And Jeffrey Goldberglooked at the evidence and concluded that guns make people safer.

And for your analytically minded friends, this Larry Correia piece is must reading for anyone who wants to understand about magazine limits and so-called assault weapons.

P.S. Fee free to vote in my poll asking the most important reason to oppose gun control.

You know, it’s a touchy debate point, but the “assault weapon” used to kill the most people on American soil was probably the penis that frenchman Gaëtan Dugas used to infect so many people in the early days of the AIDS epidemic.

While there’s ongoing debate as to whether or not he was “patient 0”, he did infect thousands.

I’m betting that any talk of licensing or registration of that particular weapon would make liberals heads explode, but if there was the slightest shred of logic to them, it would be on their table...

Colorado is not a good example to support the writer’s argument.

Yes, two legislators were recalled.

But the bad laws are still in effect and most of the legislators that voted for those laws are still in office.

That’s not a victory, it’s a loss.

How do these cretins exist in a real world? When any one of us can begin listing crimes where no gun was involved legal or illegal. We all need to start listing these types of crime on anti-gun pages and on threads here at FR.

Take this one. I have personally known Nicki’s mom for a long time before this crime happened.

19 years going on 20 on TN death row, DNA proof. He raped, strangled to death with her own shoe laces Nicki Read and then threw her body in the river.

Even helped hunt for what was thought to be a missing child. The INJUSTICE system does not give a flip how much money or grief it causes the victim’s family to have this crap delayed and delayed, and then finally some anti-death penalty justice will void the sentence and give life with parole, which means more grief to fight the suckers. And criminals have MORE rights that the victim or victim’s family!

Then you have my own horror story, which took place a few months before this one. 16 year old son, never in trouble with school or LEO, average 12 year old, yes he was developmentally delayed, his voice had not even cracked and he was 16. With in site of home is ambushed by a local sociopath and beat to death with a two ft section of 4x4 so the prep can see what it FELT LIKE TO KILL, 16 blows, first blow killed him. Went and bragged about it, took his buds to the crime scene, 1 of them had enough sense to call the cops. He stood up on the top of the hill the RR tracks ran on watching the investigation, when pointed out RAN. Caught, took 2 years for a bad plea deal. I’m fighting my first of 6 parole hearings just 10 months later. Good thing google had just started, I used all the stats I could to keep his butt in prison until he maxed his ‘bad behavior’ time out. Now he walks the streets of TN a free man, and I CCW now. He threatened from jail to kill any one who testified against him. I am his #1 target.

And that DUMB news paper from the article has linked the
ENTIRE state data base of CCW carriers in it.

This one is much older but it goes to show that when evil wants to kill they use any weapon to do it, not just a gun. Instead of going to the chair as they were supposed to do liberal anti-death penalty judges voided it to life with parole. Now the 1 sick sister is all that is left to fight for justice.

Murder In Memphis, true store of how Deborah Groseclose was murder by men her husband hired. She COOKED to death in the trunk of her car in the 100+ temps of summer in Memphis. After being beaten, stabbed, raped, and finally strangled enough for her to pass out. Then put in the trunk of her own car where she COOKED TO DEATH!

Hope this is a tongue and cheek post from you. Because I could not disagree more.

No, it is not ok for kids to think on this level, it makes them the gun grabbers of the future. They need EDUCATION on proper use of guns and when to use them. I’ve never known a boy that has not turned a stick into a sword or a gun. I had 3 of them.

Cars kill a lot of people should we outlaw them? What about the factoid more doctors kill patients than a gun do? We going to ban those too? ball bats, knives, hammers, screwdrivers, scissors, hands and feet are all weapons. Even a piece of wire.

They need to know the right gun can, just like a fishing pole bring them food. Mine started out with bows to hunt, now they are adults, guns. And the middle one was MURDERED with a 2 ft section of FENCE POST by a sociopath who wanted the thrills to see what it felt like to kill he was just 16 and not even had that voice crack that comes usually at about 12 where his development level was. Haven’t seen a ban on those killer fence post! Or the shoe laces that killed my friends little 8 year old girl after she was raped and strangled to death with her own shoe laces.

And since the women have put their noses under the camel’s tent to go into combat, they should have to register for the DRAFT just like MY SONS did. Demand equality, then be equal. When the next 18 yr old male is forced by law to sign up for the draft, the parents should start a class action lawsuit to force the 18 year old girls to do the same. Want equal rights, then you have to earn them.
