MARK LEVIN EXPLODES ON GOP ESTABLISHMENT, URGES HOUSE TO PASS RESOLUTION TO REIN IN OBAMA
The Blaze ^ | Jan 28, 2014

Conservative radio host Mark Levin exploded with fury on Tuesday as he spoke of the “constitutional crisis” in the United States and the “impotent” GOP establishment, which he says won’t put up a real fight. He also suggested a way for House Republicans to “get back in the game” and reassert its authority.

Photo Credit: MarkLevin.com “I know it’s hard to believe we’ve come to this point, particularly when we have mainstream media commentators who act like this is no big deal — in fact, think this is justified because Congress is obstructing the president’s agenda,” Levin said of the federal government’s overreach and related scandals.

That’s when the radio host lost his composure.

“Congress has the power to obstruct the president’s agenda! That’s the whole point! Particularly a president like this,” he screamed. “That’s their job!”

Levin went on to say that the U.S. doesn’t hold an election every four years so the country can have a “king.”

“And our Constitution is never up for election regardless!” he said.

He then accused House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other Republican leaders of surrendering the “power of the purse,” rendering the GOP “impotent.” However, there’s still something House Republicans can do, he said.

“Congress is a co-equal branch of the government, and the House of the Representatives is a co-equal branch of the United States Senate,” Levin explained. “The House of Representatives should pass a resolution. If the president of the United States can unconstitutionally assert powers he is not granted under the Constitution, and do so repeatedly and brazenly, and send his staff out to the mainstream media outlets to do the same thing — then one body of our government must act.”

Levin urged the House to pass a resolution that includes language similar to this:

“Whereas the president of the United States has asserted executive powers not granted to him under the United States Constitution, the United States House of Representatives hereby asserts as an equal governing institution that all such acts by the president of the United States are null and void. The House of Representatives further asserts that no federal department, federal official or federal employee is authorized to appropriate any sum of taxpayer dollars in furtherance of any unconstitutional act by the president of the United States.”

Levin is one of the few radio hosts worth listening to. It’s funny, I recall him being far more annoying and simplistic in the past, but over the past year, he has really grown on me. He’s principled as they come and has some very old but very (lately) original ideas.

That is a resolution, not a law, so it’s like a “sense of the senate” which also means nothing. They would need to start impeachment procedures if they go that direction.

They could also not pass ANY spending measures Hussein wants to accomplish related to an executive order. So far, they are not withholding money from the dictator in the White House. Any measure he tried to start, he would need money. If the house wouldn’t give it to him, he would be stopped.

We have a speaker who has battle fatigue and doesn’t have the fortitude to stop Hussein’s spending.

To illustrate some more, the House has voted to repeal Obamacare 40 times. When is any time the public has responded to those 40 times? Never, because it is dead on arrival in the senate. The public doesn't know how many times the House has repealed it because that repeal is meaningless. A resolution would be the same - no one would care as it has no weight of law.

If, however, when Obama wants money to fund an action he caused to happen by an executive order, the House voted not to fund it, that is law and Hussein is shut down on that measure. That action of the House has meaning and is law in that case.

Your post made me laugh, calling out Boehner as battle fatigued is a riot! I must have missed when he suited up for battle.

My sense is that this is rallying call so to say. We all know the weak gop is not going to even attempt to impeach this imperial acting fraud, lets at least start to make some freaking noise.

“Your post made me laugh, calling out Boehner as battle fatigued is a riot!”

I should have explained more. His battle fatigue is self imposed as he can’t handle the stress of the job - it’s one problem after another and he doesn’t know which way to jump so he has self imposed battle fatigue - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is what we call it today but his stress disorder doesn’t stop, so he is ineffective. Hence, battle fatigued. :o)

yes. articles of impeachment yes.
would have some impact, at least force Harry Reid and Company to act one way or the other.

the proposed resolution of disapproval or whatever, would seem to have no teeth or impact at all, however

Talk of activism, impeachment, useless resolutions, all amounts to one thing:

My take on Boehner is:
1) He has no guiding principles. When you don’t know where you are going (or need to go) any road will take you there.
2) He is inherently not a fighter. It isn’t in his DNA. He is the type of individual who will avoid unpleasant confrontation no matter what to the point he’ll walk away or cave to avoid direct engagement.
3) He has no passion.
4) His is in the comfort zone. He paid his dues climbing he party ladder and is now in a position where he intends to enjoy the perks of his lofty perch. Having an expensive dinner and cigars with his Chamber of Commerce buddies and benefactors is much more enjoyable than duking it out with the President. He’s in a safe seat so the only thing preventing him from fully enjoying his lofty position is the noise from the pesky tea party.
5) He, like many others in Washington, may not have a soul and if so does not know God or aspire to be a virtuous man. This point is related to #1.

I don’t believe Boehner is fatigued. He is at the pinnacle of his profession (politics). He is annoyed by the pesky tea party whose demands and influence distracts him from playing the game the way he wants. What looks like fatigue may actually be outward signs of boredom.

It is very much a crisis. And this dude has no bones about telling congress that he will act on his own. Impeachment instead of resolution.

I'm going to copy & paste that resolution in a letter to my congresscritter, Lamar Smith.
I am also going to send it to my senator, Cornyn.
