Conservatives oppose Boehner on immigration

Top House Republican leaders' ambitious plans to tackle immigration this year may already be in trouble before the House Speaker has even had a chance to unveil his ideas on how to fix problems that have long plagued the nation and, more recently, divided the GOP.

Republicans on Wednesday kick off a three-day retreat where leaders are expected, among other initiatives, to call for legal status for millions of undocumented immigrants. Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, will unveil his legislative outline that’s also likely to include strengthening border security, adding more high tech visas, and revamping the guest worker program.

But several members of the influential Republican Study Committee say a consensus is growing that bringing immigration to the floor this year is a bad idea and could seriously hurt the party in an otherwise positive looking year. There were subdued cheers on the Republican side of the gallery during the State of the Union Tuesday night when President Barack Obama called for immigration reform this year.

“It’s time,” Obama said.

Hours beforehand, members and staff of the Republican Study committee huddled on Capitol Hill. Several stood up and expressed concerns that an explosive debate on immigration could wipe out Republican political gains over Obama’s healthcare plan.

HOUSTON ALERT: I’ll say...if you live in Houston or surrounding area please come out and help us in She-Jack’s district. We will demonstrate against any legalization/amnesty schemes pulled up by treacherous RINOs.

Probably would be better if we just had less hispanics.

Cheap foreign labor is exactly what they lust for. The trick is that they don’t individually want to hire illegals but they will tell you that the presence of illegals keeps the price/ wage pressure down on the rest that are legal. Just the threat that your boss might exchange you for an illegal chicken plucker is enough to keep you from asking for more money. No less a genius than Bill Gates whines and bellyaches about how he needs more techies. But he pines to be able to hire furriners instead of ponying up for locals because the furriners tend to be willing to work cheaper——not that there aren’t as many home grown geeks around as he actually needs. As best I can tell it’s not actually the amnesty part of reform that all these blowhards want-—it’s the opening up of quotas and loosening of rules about stay-time, etc. that they really want.

You know how they define “Hispanic”? It is literally its anyone who has ancestors that spoke Spanish. Latino is anyone who has ancestors that spoke a romance language.

That literally includes almost everyone of European ancestry, so broad is the group they have tried to define. But why define and alienate a separate class of men?

The truth is all of theses factors should be ill-relevant here in the USA where people now speak English as the common language. But I suppose that is what offends us about their leaders who have campained against that which all our ancesstors did assimulation.

But their ‘leaders’ much as is also the case with blacks are self-appointed men trying to create a political movement under the guise of civil rights but now little more than race baiters.

The point is if its not theses people who are host to this virus the democrats will simply choose anther. Radical unity and hate is how the democratic party has operated for more than 150 years.

Amnesty = third party.

I will never vote R again.

If I didn’t understand the suicidal nature of the GOP elite I would be amazed at their stupidity. As it is, I am just saddened. RIP, what was once an exceptional country.

Country Clubbers are skating on some mighty thin ice.

All hell will be unleashed if they launch this attack on the working man.

Just about all human resource executives. Could it be the cheap foreign labor is what they lust for?

How cheap can labor be considering the minimum price is fixed already by the Federal government? Abolish the Welfare program and there will be millions of looking work for any price.

They can fix the problem by enforcing existing laws.

Why don't they enforce the laws?????

How many people would be supporting amnesty if they knew the ACTUAL numbers of illegals who have swarmed into this country?

Combined with an open border, a continuous acceptance of illegal babies being called citizens under the 14th Amendment by using a wrong interpretation of such Amendment, and a deliberate effort by countries south of our border to send us the worst criminals they have, I firmly believe that the number of illegals here is much closer to 50 million.

In the 70’s, in So Calif, the common acceptance of illegals then was 20 million. No politicians challenged that number. Most were thought to be in Calif, Ariz, N Mex, and Texas. They have gotten bolder since those years & have moved into northern, colder climates in the USA.

When you take their higher birth rate & statistics that show that 99% of the babies born in County General hospitals in those states were born to illegal mothers, and those ‘babies’ born in the 70’s & 80’s are now producing babies of their own, you can see a 50 million number.

When Obama campaigned for the White House in 2006-7-8, he used the number of 20 million.

Now—5 years later, he calls such number 11 million.

Where did those 9 million missing illegals go? Even using HIS numbers, it doesn’t add up. They didn’t go back. There hasn’t been a massive die off of illegals. They didn’t contract a disease of any kind that only applied to them. They haven’t stopped procreating, either. That shrinkage doesn’t make sense.

The statement about ‘employers want these workers’ isn’t sensible, either.

What employer would want to hire someone who cannot speak English, cannot read or write such at a level needed for the job, and doesn’t have the work ethic America has?

IF all these fine specimens of worker are so valuable, their own countries would NOT want them to leave for any reason, and they would be already far more successful in their own country, where they are not facing the daunting effects of not even being conversant in the language.

Watch your auto insurance go up and up with more people ‘driving’ who cannot read the street & highway signs.

The employers don’t want another class of uneducated & unskilled workers. The Liberals & Democrats want a new batch of people they think they can push into voting for more Democrats.

Telling us that they can come here legally, but NOT vote won’t wash, either.

We are being incrementally invaded & the fools in the White House & media think this is just a wonderful idea.

We already have a staggering number of American UNEMPLOYED & UNDEREMPLOYED people. Open the doors further to illegals, and then you are paying out government benefits to another large number of people.

Let them build up their own country. We don’t need millions of unskilled people giving those who do work here another level of burden.

I’ll bet a prime rib dinner that the illegals that Sheriff Joe Arpiao is picking up each & every day are not illegals that Bill Gates would hire to mow his lawn.

Trying to tell America that these illegals are high tech workers is just a plain lie.

The problem is not just border enforcement. That is important but even worse is the 1.3 million legal immigrants allowed by the Senate and probably Boner’s bill. These will mostly come from Mexico and Latin America totally screwing low income Americans looking for a job.

There will also be engineers from India and China. A little known fact that I am acutely aware of is that there is rampant age discrimination in engineering. Employers prefer an engineer a few years out of school because they cost less and the employers think, wrongly, that they are just as good as someone with more experience.

In any case, over 30 years that is over 30 million new immigrants that do not share our culture but come from much more leftist backgrounds.

Is there contact info on chamber of commerce?

Are people turning in their membership cards?

I rejected a solicitation for membership due to their imigration amnesty a short while ago during a membership drive.
