The huge revolting scandal that breaks about the guy you cast your vote for two weeks ago would be the biggest one IMO.
Vote early. Vote often.
To my thinking, there should be two days per year declared national holidays for voting.
Replace any two current holidays you want.
Give everyone who votes a $100 dollar tax deduction for voting.
Insidiously simple and effective.

I no longer believe the elections are “true”. Too many ways to cheat....and early voting is one of them.
Yeah. . .but to get that hundred many low-information non-voters would suddenly become low-information voters.
I do NOT endorse the concept that low voter turn-out is a bad thing. I think it is a good thing.
If you don’t know the issues or candidates, you have no business voting.
During the last election, many of my students did not vote because I stress how important it is to know who/what you are voting for, and not merely voting because someone made you feel guilty about not voting.
Some didn’t vote because they realized they haven’t paid attention and haven’t given a thought to voting until all those ‘get-out-the-(democrat)vote’ drives, and they knew they would be just tossing a vote out there that might, or might not, be for what they want.
Paying people (tax deduction) to vote would only attract the wrong kind of voter (IMHO).
Gonna have to work on those September Surprises.
Early Cheating is a hot topic in Dem circles as it should be. It’s a key element of the Barack Obama Success Strategy (BOSS).
How about the “helpful” Democratic community organizer who goes door to door with a fistful of absentee ballots and sits down with grandma to assist in filling out the ballot?
Don’t even have to drive ‘em to the polls anymore.
Voting should be done on one day at set places in person for all but a few exceptions. Military, the true shut ins who are of sound mind and those who must be away for work on election day.
I also think registering should be done in person with a photo ID
and no “voter rolls” where you stay registered either. You should register annually at a minimum

This would hurt people who work for a living and benefit those who sit around waiting on their government check. My circumstances are such that I usually have no choice but to vote early. I would be effectively disenfranchised if not for early voting so I don’t have a problem with it.
So when did Ohio start early voting?
I have no idea but I have been doing it for a few years now. I just walk into the county elections office and cast my votes, seal up the ballot in a secure envelope and pass it off to an elections official to be opened up on election day.
Early voting and the big jump in absentee ballot voting are both golden opportunities for vote fraud, which would be why some want those two and would fight any reduction in it.
I can see expanding voting beyond one day, but it should be something like three days from Friday through Tuesday for all voting, and not this absurd practice of early voting weeks before the official election day. Being able to vote on a weekend day would help many, plus a couple of business days is more than adequate.
Frankly I always made time to vote just like generations of my family before me did.
