While the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with many Arab regimes espouses a doctrine of anti-Americanism the Iranian people have become profoundly pro-American in recent years.
The officials of Iran are concerned about the rising tide of pro-Americanism among the masses in Iran. American presence is highly felt on the east as well on the west of Iranian doors which has become a major cause of trouble for Iranian officials. It is believed since the beginning of Iranian crises there are chances of total disillusion of Iranian people while the United Nations gets sidelined with fierce pro-Americanism among the people.
In September 2002 a poll commissioned by the Majlis (parliament) found that 74% of Iranians favor resumption of ties with the United States. According to a 2011 poll by the CJS 72% of Iranians have a positive view of the United States. In a recent telephone poll conducted by a satellite television station based in the US over 82% of Iranians had a favorable view of the United States.

They will never get rid of the ruling theocracy in Iran, even if we are all still around in decades they can’t and won’t do it. I don’t see any other viable solution other than millions of Americans, Persians, Russians and Chinese and others being burned alive.
And the Persians don’t seem to be accepting the idea that Jews, Christians and agnostics and atheists and pagans deserve to be seen as their equals and that women should have anywhere near the same rights as men. I don’t see many Persians on board with those ideas at all.
Every time Iran reaches another level of threat towards the Middle East and the West in general, I hear this same old tired story trotted out.

Yea I think that’s the point of the article. We should help replace the regime.
It would at the very least be nice to have some sort of interviews, perhaps even studies and discussions and published debates and roundtables with Iranian youth or at the very least of Iranian Americans from various generations.

I could elaborate, but what is the point? This story is used repeatedly by various parties to justify allowing the status quo to continue.
Lefties in our own country are convinced that Republicans are no different from the Taliban or the Mullahs in Iraq and declare that belief regularly as a reason to vote for dems.
I just had this conversation Monday with one and the whole rigmarole is getting old from my standpoint.

Maybe you both could at the very least elaborate on what the Iranian Americans under 30 crowd, including various students, athletes, scholars, lawyers, scientists, doctors and others in that age group have to say. Since I understand that getting opinions on the younger generation within Iran can be very difficult. I had thought that most of them were American liberals who think Obama is the greatest thing to ever happen to this nation, much like, to be sure, most other Americans under 30. Maybe I am mistaken, am I? Could you explain if I am?
It might be completely true for the generation that grew up under Khomeini and his successors. Hard to get any kind of even semi accurate info in that nation.
Of course, it ain’t like it should ever stop us from doing what we gotta do military to prevent the theocracy from carrying out its nuclear strikes. From that viewpoint, the theocracy has enough power and influence to carry that out and the level of support they have beyond that does not matter.
Most Iranian-Americans are Republicans mainly because of Carter/Reagan.
There are other ways to change a regime besides war. Every country is different and requires a specific strategy. We can use soft war/tech war, covert ops, intelligence infiltration, etc. Afterall, we did not invade the Soviet Union but we won the cold war.
Are you sure that is true even for Iranian Americans under 30? For example, you can look at FB or twitter groups with Iranian Americans and find that most of those under 30 are hard leftists who place Obama on as big of a pedestal as most other Americans under 30.
