Fourteen MNsure managers were paid bonuses totalling more than $26,000 in November as Minnesota launched its troubled online health insurance exchange, state officials said Wednesday.

After MNsure went online Oct. 1, software problems bogged down website users and led to long delays for callers to its overwhelmed call center in St. Paul.

Rep. Joe Hoppe, R-Chaska, first raised questions about the bonuses in a letter to Gov. Mark Dayton on Tuesday.

"After MNsure's catastrophic launch, MNsure executive staff received bonus compensation," he said, citing a state report prepared last week. "Given the chaos that was apparent within MNsure, this is reminiscent of the worst excesses of Wall Street."

Detroit pension officials handed out about $1 billion in bonuses from the city’s two pension funds to retirees and active city workers from 1985 to 2008. That money — mostly in the form of so-called 13th checks — could have shored up the funds and possibly prevented the city from filing for bankruptcy. If that money had been saved, it would have been worth more than $1.9 billion today to the city and pension funds, by one expert’s estimate.

So this is nothing new for failure-inducing chuckleheads.

And, don’t forget, the original administrator of the program took a vacation as the system was rolled out and was crumbling. More proof government can’t efficiently handle a program, and Obamacare, MNSure, etc. are proving it more every day.

They probably got a bonus for delivering it “on time.” It didn’t work, but they met their date.

I think they got bonuses for making sure that they developed a product guaranteed NOT to work. Creating chaos in the health insurance industry/advancing the agenda, doncha’ know!

Dayton took “responsibility” for the debacle. So get your check book out Marky.

Kurt Zellers said today that Dems even blocked his attempt to prevent MNSURE phone center workers from working there if they are convicted felons .

Dems protect their constituents.
