Moderates and independents. They're the real game changers. Ask Romney.

Fox Snooze had a poll on the other night that asked who identified with the Tea Party. I think it was over 25%. If half the country are Libtards and half are repubes that means we are more than 50% of the party.

The bottom line is that you can't win without the base.

But they are apparently hell-bent on ticking us off.

I can only assume that Republicans are not so much interested in actually winning elections as getting money from donors in a quixotic quest to win elections.

But what donors are going to contribute if the chances of an (R) victory continue to dwindle?

The idiots would be the only contributors at that point. I guess.

Nothing that Obama proposed in his STOU was completely serious. Many of the proposals were intended to allow Democrat members of the Senate to disagree with and separate themselves from Obama.

Amnesty is a trick to divide the GOP.

You, of course, know we just need to get this issue off the table so we can focus like a laser on ObamaCare. Right?

:-)

Maybe that’s what they’re thinking. Or maybe they’re just not thinking?

But some advocates of reform are beginning to rally around an idea to grant immigrants legal status in the U.S. and leave the question of citizenship out of the legislation. In other words, they can work, but not vote.

"I don't think this is a good idea because citizenship is important, but I don't think it is a big deal breaker either," Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., a leading congressional advocate for overhauling U.S. immigration law, said in a speech last month. "Right now we have to stop the deportations that are breaking up families. And if we do not get citizenship this year, we will be back next year and the year after that."

While strong majorities of Hispanics continue to back a pathway to citizenship, a Pew Research Center poll last month found that being able to live and work in the U.S. legally without the threat of deportation was more important to Latinos by 55 percent to 35 percent.

FOX Snooze failed to make that connection.

"Right now we have to stop the deportations that are breaking up families.

There's no logic whatsoever in that statement. It's about a voting block and emotion.

Of course there is logic. Luis Gutierrez is assisting the GOP scam that we can legalize these people and not call it an amnesty because there is no path to citizenship.

Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here--the object of their crime--is amnesty. Gutierrez knows that as do the Reps pushing it. Citizenship is just the cherry on top.

And according to the Pew poll cited, most Hispanics view legalization of status so they won't be deported as being more important than citizenship. Thus, the Dems and Reps have a deal. The Reps want a doubling of our guest worker programs. Legalization is just a bargaining chip.

And the Dems can still use the citizenship issue as a club against the GOP. The reality is that legal immigration will make the Dems the permanent majority party regardless.

The Dems never take no for an answer and they will persevere to get their objective whether it is the gay agenda or healthcare.

I definitely understand the tactical aspects of Luis Gutierrez’s plea, and I certainly can see the terrible ramifications of any amnesty bill. But his is an emotional appeal, when we split up American families all the time that break the law.

Wouldn't it be nice if the GOP actually practiced that? I'd like to think so.
