Bill O'Reilly: GOP Should 'Wise Up' and Raise Minimum Wage

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly says the "pinheads" in the Republican Party should stop opposing the minimum wage.

"The Republican Party should really wise up and stop opposing raising the minimum wage. It should be 10 bucks an hour" to keep employers from exploiting workers, O'Reilly said Wednesday during his opening "Talking Points Memo" segment of his TV show.

O'Reilly said his proposed $10 an hour minimum wage would apply only to adults. Teenagers just beginning their careers should be paid on a lower scale, he said.

Chet Curtis a long time newscaster, here in Boston, died a few days ago. He was one of the good guys. O’Reilly came up to Boston for the funeral and Howie Carr mentioned it on his show. Someone called in an asked what O’Reilly was really like and Howie said that what you see on TV is exactly who he is. From that remark, I automatically assumed that Howie thinks he’s an arrogant jerk. I guess he wasn’t much liked when he was on TV here.

I agree to that. Fox is in some ways better. At the same time it may actually be subtly worse. People think they’re getting the Conservative message, but in fact are getting a lot of reinforcement for creeping socialism too.

The more the Left trashes Fox, the more effective this becomes.

Fox can’t be Leftist, because the Left hates it. In truth, I’ll bet the left laughs it’s ass off when people watch O’Reilly and think they’re getting gospel Conservatism.

He reminds me more and more of Ted Baxter.

The issues aren’t important to Bill; it’s the fact that he has an opinion on a subject that’s so important. He and Piers Morgan should co-host a show together. They deserve each other.

There is an “unwritten law” that YOU (any American citizen) are not permitted to operate a national-level news business.

Only if you ingratiate yourself with the financial elites will you be invited to join CFR (it’s invitation-only).

Then you will be permitted to operate on a national scale, since you will then have ceded final editing authority over to your NWO bosses.

They don’t mind if you print the local gossip/coupon sheet, of course, so, technically, at least, you can get in the news business.

Wasn’t Bill an English teacher at one point? That could explain why Math and basic Economics are completely beyond his scope of understanding...

Howie’s former sidekick VB said pretty much the same thing about what it was like to have BOR in the studio. At least BOR gave a couple blurb recommendations for a couple of Howie’s books.

Bill O'Reilly, Producer Settle Harassment Suit

Bill O'Reilly settled a sexual harassment lawsuit by his former producer last night, ending what he called a "brutal ordeal" without an apology.

The Fox News talk show host also agreed to drop his extortion suit against Andrea Mackris and her attorney, Benedict Morelli, according to a statement by O'Reilly's lawyer. The deal likely involves payment of millions of dollars to Mackris, since the two sides were discussing an offer of well over $2 million when negotiations broke down, say sources close to O'Reilly. Both parties agreed to keep the details confidential, according to the statement.

No thanks, I`ll do without the pizza. And the minimum wage trolls can do without those jobs.

Yes he was certainly spouting the populist line on this one. It's so unfortunate that we have so many of these sabatuers on our side. We are trying to save what is left of the free Republic and these guys (who are sometimes great) come along at the wrong times and bomb the movement from within. We are hanging on by threads and they gleefully pluck at them and cut them to thier fancy. There are so many of them including Newt, Paul Ryan, McCain, Lindsey Graham, Joe Scarborough (the white Bryant Gumble), Oren Hatch, the list just goes on and on.

I think the time has come to start thinking about Post American America, as we are only about one or two 2,000 page unread bills away from a one party country. Invest in security companies and gated compounds.

Let’s take a ride in the way back machine...
What has happened since July 2008?
Anybody?
Buehler?

Of course, there’s no correlation between unemployment and minimum wage increases. Right?
Labor is a commodity. The government setting prices will not bode well for the market unless your intention is to create inflation. Reminds me of Nixon’s ‘wage and price controls’. Yeah, that went well.

I think O’Really sees himself as a pithy character, that most folks will like. I know folks who enjoy his program. I don’t.

Is he a well meaning guy? I actually think he is. He’s just too Liberally diffuse around the sides for me. He doesn’t get it in ways we do. I haven’t read his books. They may be of value, so he may be doing some good that I haven’t fully tuned in on.

I think it was a decent thing of him to attend the funeral of that guy. His family may have appreciated it very much.

What is the worst thing a Conservative can do, unintentionally? They can fill a slot and do a lousy job of it, when a more capable person could have taken the position and done wonders with it.

When the Left loses, in many instances they don’t really. By the winner going neutral, the Left wins anyway. Conservatism is not advanced, and that’s what must happen. If it doesn’t, Leftist norms are ensconced even more stridently.

I lost all respect for the sincerity of this man when he attacked the Swift Boat Vets. That would be 2004 - ten years ago.

Let's make the minimum wage whatever BOR makes.

Then see if he thinks we should do it.

What a slow child.

Right...When I used to watch his show (years ago) he would constantly refer to God/Jesus Christ as “The Deity”.

That told me he was a flaming lib jackass.

If $10/hr is a good idea, would $25/hr be better?

O'Reilly said his proposed $10 an hour minimum wage would apply only to adults.

So of the 3-5% of workers in this country receiving minimum wage, he's proposing slicing that number in half, and only having to pay extra for adult workers. How will this help 1) the overall economy, and 2) "income inequality?"
