About 10 or 15 years ago I had considered the impact of the Internet to be a great equalizer with the power to shed light and allow the truth to percolate to the top.

We seemed to become more ideologically entrenched.

From my seat, I think the message needs to be spread by a messenger that comes from these communities. There is NO WAY a white republican would be heard. A black republican from the community would have a very difficult time getting elected. A black Democrat (in name only) from the community, that wanted to get elected would likely find himself quickly shut down and co-opted by the established machine.

I'm not sure what it will take, other than more time and more misery that may push these folks to their limit.

But, the worm is turning.
