Why Kerry Is Scary (Trying to Force a Middle East "Peace")
New York Times ^ | January 28, 2014 | Thomas Friedman

TEL AVIV — It is pretty clear now that Secretary of State John Kerry will either be Israel’s diplomatic salvation or the most dangerous diplomatic fanatic Israel has ever encountered. But there isn’t much room anymore for anything in between. This is one of those rare pay-per-view foreign policy moments. Pull up a chair. You don’t see this every day.

In essence what Kerry is daring to test is a question everyone has wanted to avoid: Is the situation between Israelis and Palestinians at five minutes to midnight or five minutes after midnight, or even 1 a.m. (beyond diplomacy)?

Obama wants a peace treaty so he can pretend to earn his Nobel Peace Prize, after the fact.

Kerry wants a peace treaty so he can fill that huge ego of his, as the greatest Secretary of State of all time, before a last run for President in 2016.

I view them both as giving Israel up to the wolves.

The future destruction of the Israeli state -- now that's change you can believe in.

The author muses that there are only two alternatives -- a binational Israeli state with residents (Palestinians) who cannot vote or serve; or a partition as Kerry is trying to accomplish.

There is a third. Resettlement of the Palestinians to other Muslim nations.

so far not one single thing reported about Kerry’s plans are even remotely feasible, possible, or beneficial in any way whatsoever

they are all designed to deprive Israel of more of its tiny land and especially take away two key parts it needs for self-defense.... Israel’s high hills (overlooking its cities) and its eastern border buffer strip (across which massive enemy Islamic armies have marched or threatened to march several times already).

a total losing proposition is our secretary of state...
a high-flying disaster area

and a tremendous embarrassment to America.

let’s bring him home and keep him home (and keep him away from foreign affairs!)... let him sit in WashDC and collect his wages and throw darts at the wall for all we care...

just keep him out of causing any more trouble!

“There is a third. Resettlement of the Palestinians to other Muslim nations. “

The Palestinians are there because other Arab nations wanted hem to be there a constant goad against Israel. They won’t take them. You couldn’t beat, beg, bribe or threaten to move them there. If you did move them there, the host country would kill them in their own defense.

The future destruction of Israel will happen in God’s timing. Until then Israel with be a stumbling block to the nations and any who try to destroy her shall be brought low.

Saddam played God and told the Palestinians kuwait was the Promised Land

Kuwait rejected the notion and kicked them out

Israel was not involved and was neither harmed nor helped

"I don’t have a good throw-away email address."

In the old days, before they validated email addresses, I always used to use hillaryis@witch.com or obamais@commie.com.

Now it's so easy to pick one for all the lefty news sites. Who cares if they send you spam every day? Try:

commies-suck@ymail.com
or
reid-eat-my-shorts@gmail.com

Hard to disagree with you but ... the only reasons why Arab nations have been so unreasonable since the end of WWII is ... oil.

If we can break their financial backs with fracking, here in the USA and in Europe, then those nations will be reeling. THAT will be the time to work on resettlement.

Just remember that in the aftermath of WWII tens of millions of people were relocated to make national boundaries more sensible and keep hostile peoples apart. Most of them were Germans, but it included Hungarians, Poles, Ukrainians, Finns, Koreans, Japanese, Russians, Serbs, Chinese, and Yugoslavs. Almost 20 million total. Sure it was difficult and no doubt some of these people wanted to stay put but the world was behind it and the people moved.

It's always amazed me that while this huge international transfer of people was happening between 1945 and 1950, a couple hundred thousand Palestinians were babied and coddled rather than being told to take up residence elsewhere in the middle east.

Roger that but in the meantime we must do whatever we can to protect Israel. That means defending her in the political realm and opposing morons like John Kerry.

Too bad it doesn't work anymore. I must've used it 1,000 times.

Especially when doing bogus signups for Democrat mailing lists.

Just wanted to see the look on the IT administrator's face when he saw the address bouncing back email.

No, it is about getting the Palestinians out of Kuwait and back where they came from.

It was all about the Palestinians that came to Kuwait to root out the Kuwaiti’s.

I know that for a fact. Trying to involve Israel indicates complete misunderstandingof the events
