With Rep. Henry Waxman's retirement announcement, many of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's top lieutenants are abandoning ship. Waxman joins his California colleague, Rep. George Miller, and Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia as close Pelosi allies to retire after this Congress. And after last year's 2012 elections, Pelosi's leading in-house strategist Jen Crider left her office, later announcing she was working for Microsoft.
Their decisions are as strong a signal as any that veteran House Democrats hold little hope of taking the House in 2014, and they probably are pessimistic about their long-term prospects for a congressional majority. Miller and Waxman would be in line to chair influential committees if their party took control of the chamber. A third Democrat, Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota, wouldn't commit to running again in an interview this week. He would be in line to head up the Agriculture Committee in a Democratic majority.
Democrats need to net 17 seats to hand Pelosi the gavel, and analysts expect little movement, with President Obama's low approval ratings and redistricting reducing the number of competitive districts.
The decisions by Pelosi's California allies also raise the prospect that the minority leader herself could decide to retire—if not this year, then in the near future.

Fat chance. That would mean she’d have to buy her own booze.
I think she has so much plastic surgery and drugs keeping her going that she will probably die (bug eyes staring) in a congressional session, and nobody will even realize she is dead until the janitorial staff is cleaning the chamber at night.

IMHO, she isn’t going to retire until her lights go out while she’s sitting on her ass behind her desk and they wheel her out of her office on a gurney with a sheet over her head. She loves pissing off Americans and isn’t going to give it up any time soon. It’s a commie thing.
The bill for just the BOOZE on her airplane for ONE year was OVER ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS..!
She also more than once diverted her huge plane thousands of miles simply in order to pick up CHOCOLATE COATED STRAWBERRIES.
She and her husband own a vineyard, so that shouldn’t be a problem. In typical royal fashion, this great pro-union couple refuses to allow their vineyard workers to unionize.
If that were to happen you just know a political nuke was about to level Washington.
They know with Obozo sinking there isn’t a chance in h@!l they’ll retake the House any time soon.

Well, it makes sense. She’s already made her fortune, and probably won’t see a House majority again in near future. She can’t really wring anything more out of the public for her personal gain, so why not retire?
