State Rep. J.P. Miranda (D-197th dist.) and his sister Michelle Wilson were released from custody on their own recognizance after being arraigned on felony charges of perjury and criminal conspiracy, prosecutors have announced.
Miranda, 34, and Wilson, 28, will next appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 4, the office of District Attorney Seth Williams announced today.
Miranda allegedly hired his sister to work in his office in violation of Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus rules, paid her through a straw employee and lied to conceal his actions.
