Another Environmental Lie Exposed: Bees are Thriving

I cannot say it strong enough. Do not believe the lies that environmental groups, particularly those that receive millions from liberal foundations and from members who never question the “science” they claim to justify massive scare campaigns.

One such organization is Friends of the Earth (FOE) and its latest claim is that bees are dying all over the world as the result of the use of pesticides in agriculture and by people protecting their gardens. It is a lie.

The attack on the use of pesticides began in 1962 with the publication of Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring” that claimed that their use posed a threat to human life. She said “Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species—man—acquired significant power to alter the nature of the world.”

Don't know if there are any beekeepers on here but I can tell you there's no shortage of bees when my lavender bushes come back in the spring. Now if I could just put a tracker on one of them to find the hive.

My daughter tried to keep bees, but they abandoned their hives. Evidence indicates, though, that they swarmed and went elsewhere, not that they died.

I find it rather humorous that The “Friends of The Earth”s acronym is FOE.

I found a bee dieoff..a couple of years ago and nearly fell for the “massive bee death” propaganda.

I am an ex bee keeper. My colonies repeatedly died off.

There is no question that bee populations are diminishing. The question is the cause.

Pesticides can be blamed but most believe the cause is biological.

BTW..... until we learn to communicate with bees, we can forget about communicating with extraterrestrials

No doubt one of the most vilified products ever. Billy boy rucklehouse banned it by rote just to shut the envirowackos up. “Ebidence? We don’t need no steenkin” ebidence!” Supposition substituting for science.

So an article by a pesticide salesman, whose only relevant source on the subject of his article is another pesticide salesman, is proof that there is no decline in bee populations due to pesticides or any other cause.

And anyway, who cares, it’s just damn bees, and they sting! AMIRITE!

I'm not a beekeeper, but some of my neighbors are.
I can tell you bees are hardy, though not indestructible.
You have to take good care of them...

You know how they say, "happy wife = happy life"?
Well, with bees, it's the same: treat them right, or no honey tonight.

Do you think limiting moving bees across state lines would slow spread of disease? I would think orchards would be better off if they partnered with local beekeepers instead of moving the bees so far and often. Of course having local hives would not work until they stopped bring in hives and diseases from other states. This is just an opinion but I would love to see a study on the issue. That seems like a much more likely problem than some vague pesticide.

I used to get honey bees and bumble bees in my lavender bushes. For the past 5 years or so, only bumble bees showed up.

Haven't found honey bees at all recently. [Anecdotal observation, of course.]

I don’t know the cause, but there has been a definite decrease in the bees (both honey & bumble) in our area (Philly suburbs) - so much so that we are considering placing a hive in our backyard — we have several butterfly bushes that used to be a mass of buzzing bees and they were barren this past summer/fall — not many butterflies either.

Have none of the eviroloons ever flown....in a jet airplane at altitude? I cant imagine anyone havong done so not having some insight as to how MAMMOTH this earth really is.

The envoroloons arrogance is nearly as large...thinking man can alter the course of the “life” of the earth.

In western NY I have seen an abundance of honey bees, bumble bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and some little bee like thing. They were all over my flowers last summer.

On an odd side note, my wife pets the bumble bees when they are on the sunflowers and roses. Not sure if it is skill or luck but she hasn’t been stung yet. I cringe when I see her do it.
