Skip to comments.Palin leads the GOP field in latest polling data

There are two stories here. First, you will note how Public Policy Polling reports the results of its most recent poll of most popular potential GOP candidates for president. If you click on the link and read the PPP narrative you would not realize that Sarah Palin is the choice of more Republican and unaffiliated voters of all of those mentioned. Yet they post Mike Huckabee as the choice. Just another example of how much the liberal Elite Media fears Palin.
The second story is, of course that Palin has a 70% approval rating to a 20% unfavorable. Huckabee has a 46/18 rating, not a significant difference. Of course the "big news" is how much Chris Christie has been hurt by the "scandal" over political retribution by some of his staff. Still nothing compared to the IRS scandal with Obama, but the Elites don't mention that.
It will be interesting to see how all this shakes out after the GOP discloses its amnesty for illegal aliens plans.
But credit where credit is due. At least in this poll the results reported were for likely GOP primary voters. In earlier PPP polls they included Democrats.
We think the overriding conclusion from these results is the fact that there are still way too many "undecided" to say there is a front-runner among any of these potential candidates.

I thought Romney was first again. Surely his hour has come.
I could enthusiastically support Sarah. But she would have to actually run, rather than just toy with the idea.
you are correct.
unfortunately Sarah is like a baseball player that bats a thousand but doesn’t play the game
I thought it was Romney at the front.
And then Shmuckleberry at the front.
Not really sure what to make of these polls.
Sarah hasn’t really done much of note in the face of actual tyranny sadly.
She hasn’t been outspoken, and really hasn’t seemed to speak at all from what I can remember.
The person who has is Ted Cruz. He has stood up for my freedom in the face of real tyranny, and I won’t forget that.
He is the only person that I will vote for for president.
Everyone else has failed utterly.
Palin has a 70/20 rating (approve/unfavorable)
Huckabee has a 46/18 rating
not a significant difference
Huh? 70% is significantly higher than 46%. Or is the author trying to say that the unfavorable % is similar?
She is favored by all.
“Sarah hasnt really done much of note in the face of actual tyranny sadly.
She hasnt been outspoken, and really hasnt seemed to speak at all from what I can remember.”
Erm, is this missing a sarc tag?
Please tell me it is?
Cuz, erm, well, Palin has been doing nothing BUT speak out about pretty much EVERY issue. Death panels, anyone?
Here’s a categorized collection of Palin speaking out since 2009:
Were you under a rock in 2010 and 2012, when she, you know, spoke out for dozens of candidates, and went down and, you know, campaigned in person with Nikki Haley, Susana Martinez, and dozens of others, including yes, Ted Cruz?
Tried to get Steve Lonegan in for Senator from New Jersey just last October.
Her first endorsement for 2014 has been Tim Scott for reelection to Senator (she also endorsed him for Rep in 2010):
Romney and Rove will NOT be happy.
No doubt they will get out their attack-surrogates, AGAIN.
Fax me some of that dope, you’ve obviously had more than enough.
Much as I would like to see her run, I think her son, Trig, has priority in her life right now.
I think the author is being sarcastic about the obvious spread.
The GOP leaderships’ worst nightmare.
They make a great team.
“Were you under a rock in 2010 and 2012, when she, you know, spoke out for dozens of candidates, and went down and, you know, campaigned in person with Nikki Haley, Susana Martinez, and dozens of others, including yes, Ted Cruz?”
Yes, very true, but where is she today? It’s 2014 and just like 2010 and 2012, there are elections! I like Sarah, but she’s not really “around” at least that I can see.
She is the best “king-maker” we have.
Thank her for Ted Cruz, Marcia Blackburn and others.
With her behind the scenes, the LSM can’t indoctrinate the LIVs against her any more.
That anyone thinks shrillery is more qualified, shows how doomed this country is.
Scott Walker has done a damn good job of doing the same, beating back the labor union bullies in Wisconsin.
The GOP leaders are done with her
She could not win a general election against a dem. there’s nothing to NOT like about her, but no
The one that the GOP bosses are shaking over is the one who, in sincerely working for the country, everyone, will win it only a recognizable conservative can do that (and he doesn’t have to say he’s conservative)
Sarah would give the dems a victory. She knows that. One has to be very wise to their ways at all times
The one that wl make the GOP frightened is the republican who can win. And they’ll sabotage him
I guess I missed that. Reading fail on my part!
“The one that will make the GOP frightened is the republican who can win. And theyll sabotage him”
So I guess no conservativ stands a chance. I’m inclined to agree with you.
Damn, seriously? Type in the keyword “Palin” on search here at FR and read until you get tired.
You are getting conflicting info because Palin and Romney weren’t included in some of the recent polls.
And he has done so as a chief executive. I'm not sure how he will be on immigration but overall he would be an excellent choice. Not taking anything away from Cruz though but has he ever had executive responsibilities? Obama has shown that we no someone who has done something with there life.
WE NEED NEW BLOOD!! These reruns just won’t make the cut.
Paljn crossed the line in her full-throated and absurd defense of John McCain and criticism of Arizona Republicans who rightly censured him. Until she apologizes to us Arizonans and walks back her ridiculous and undeserved praise for this traitor, I can’t support her. I also find it curious that she never has much to say about amnesty.
A conservative not only stands a chance, but wll walk away with a landslide.
He’d have conservatives, republicans and the Lo Infos, who know the gimmee stuffs’ greed is not working
They just need leadership
No one has been strong enough in character to run as a conservative and rise above the attackers and those of little faith, so you don’t have an example. Reagan did it. The enemy is stronger now but that’s the type that can do it
The constitution was created for this, reliance on it is a winner
Sure are a lot of anti-Palin concern trolls upset at her popularity among the finest of the GOP and conservative voters.
What’ll she ever do without your support? Oh, that’s right, you’ve NEVER supported her!
Name a real conservative.
Anyway, getting back to the constitution is for this country like a recovering addict going back to faith, rejecting tenets of faith out of bitterness is always a loser.
And if you doubt we’re addicted, watch the porn and beer commercials on Sunday. Look at pot legalization at the se time we’re criminalizing cigarettes. That’s pure insanity
“Damn, seriously? “
Well, she isn’t showing up much on national TV! As good as she may be, I personally think she’s frittered away a gift she was given by her choice as McLame’s VP running mate. Only she knows why she has not done more with that leg up. And yeah, I get it that you love her, so do I, but lets’ not let that get in the way of reality. BTW, I hope that I am proven wrong!
DID YOU SEARCH THAT KEYWORD? She shows up more than ANY other political figure on Google, save for the guy in the White House. More than Biden, Hillary, Boehner, Pelosi, Reid, McConnell, etc. What more can she do to satisfy you? Look down the list of threads, there’s a seminar going on about what her presidency would’ve been like. What other “failed” VP nominee have they ever done that about?
After the 2008 election Gov. Sarah Palin helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations during the 2010 election with her endorsements and rallies all over the country; she has endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate is at 69%. 18 out of 20 targets in her Take Back the 20 campaign ; this is a 90% success rate! Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the partys few successes during this election. Sarah Palin campaigned for constitutional conservatives like Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Paul Gosar, resulting in 5 conservatives being elected to the Senate and 32 conservatives to the House.
“Name a real conservative.”
I think Ted Cruz is close to a real conservative.
She is a stronger candidate than Romney!
That can’t be right.
Another poll has Huckabee as the lead.
Huckabee? That can’t be right.
Another poll has Romney as the lead.
They can’t all be in the lead!!!!
This is going to be a looooooooooooong election season for 2016.
Cmon Chris, she tweets and facebooks, isn’t that enough?
He also supports amnesty.
She endorsed him, yes.
She endorses people.
I don’t see how that wins the presidency.
I’m out, plus I don’t want to crush it in the fax machine.
Sorry, vet. I don’t see it.
The one way I will believe that Palin is the “real deal” is if she respectfully severs herself from showing any more gratitude towards McCain for choosing her to run as VP. He is using that to shut her up on any major issue that runs counter to this RINO/Globalist/Traitor shill. He is NOT due any respect. None. I still can’t figure out if John was surprised by how well Palin did on the campaign trail while he was doing everything he could to lose the election.
Get ready to scratch your head. Or maybe bang your head against the wall in utter frustration. A recent poll of GOP voters in New Hampshire put Romney in first place with 28% support. Here's an earlier FR thread about it.
Ted Cruz doesn’t describe it like you do.
You and Ted Cruz have two different opinions on what put him in the Senate.
I think I’ll trust Ted Cruz’s opinion on his election victory, over that of a concern troll.
