More Conservatives than Liberals Belong to Mixed-Race Families

These aren’t terribly surprising results. National politicians with mixed-race families have tended to be Republicans. Both McCain and Mitt Romney had mixed race family members. It may be because conservatives are more likely to adopt children than liberals.

Indeed, among families with step-children or adopted children, 11 percent of conservatives were living in mixed race households compared to 10 percent of liberals living in mixed-race households.

Similarly, 9.4 percent of Republicans living in step- or adopted families were in mixed-race households, compared to only 8.8 percent of Democrats in such families. (Again, this small advantage for Republicans is not large enough to be statistically significant).

The differences are not significant, but they are real.

And on a related note, here’s the demographic breakdown of Torch Lake, MI where Michael Moore’s palatial estate is located, from Wikipedia, and I quote: “The racial makeup of the township was (as of the 2000 census) 96.98% White, 0.78% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.95% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.50% of the population.” I wonder how many “Homies” and “Cholos” live on Martha’s Vineyard, or is it beneath the Kennedys to live amongst such “riff raff”?

Todd Palin's mother maternal grandmother is a native Alaskan from the Yup'ik tribe, so Sarah and Todd are another mixed-race conservative couple.

One of the central differences between our party and theirs is that we have almost no interest in race. Liberals think race is the central fact of life, and they are unwilling to intermarry because they won't marry someone they consider inferior. This is the same inferiority that in their little minds justifies affirmative action - because they think certain groups need the extra help to balance their lack of ability.

Looking at these numbers, it’s rather clear that MSNBC made a bigger mistake than the one they thought that they were making. Interracial marriage is less frequent in the liberal capitals than in “flyover” country.

When we lived in New England we were subjected to annual news stories about the Kennedys and their sycophants attending Rose Kennedy's birthday party.

Only black faces in the crowd had either a microphone or a serving tray in their hands.
